Claims (32)

1. A front tow extended saddle, comprising:

a forward portion for coupling to a towing vehicle;

a middle portion connected to the forward portion;

a rear portion connected to the middle portion; and

a connector connected to the rear portion, the connector for connecting the rear portion to one or both springs and spring shackles of the vehicle to be towed, the connector being an assembly having one or more removable pins and configured to capture at least a portion of the one or both springs and spring shackles of the vehicle when the connector is assembled onto the vehicle to be towed.

2. A front tow extended saddle, comprising:

a forward portion for interfacing with a saddle mount or fifth wheel of a towing truck, the forward portion comprising two first rails spaced apart a first distance and connected together by one or more cross members;

a middle portion connected to the forward portion;

a rear portion connected to the middle portion; and

a connector connected to the rear portion, the connector for connecting the rear portion to springs and spring shackles of the towing truck, the connector comprising a spring wedge assembly connected to the rear portion.

3. A front tow extended saddle, comprising:

a forward portion for interfacing with a saddle mount or fifth wheel of a towing truck, the forward portion comprising two first rails spaced apart a first distance and connected together by one or more cross members of the forward portion;

a middle portion comprising a plurality of plates connected to a rear of said forward portion;

a rear portion connected to the middle portion, the rear portion comprising two inner rails spaced apart a second distance and two outer rails spaced apart a third distance, the third distance being greater than the second distance, the inner and outer rails being connected together by one or more cross members of the rear portion; and one or more connectors connected to the rear portion, the one or more connectors for connecting the rear portion to springs and spring shackles of the vehicle being towed, the one or more connectors each comprising a spring wedge assembly comprising a pair of side plates connected together with a lower transverse plate, the spring wedge assembly including one or more through holes located above the transverse plate to accommodating one or more removable securing pins, whereby a vehicle spring of the vehicle being towed is captured between the sides of the spring wedge assembly, the transverse plate, and the one or more securing pin of the spring wedge assembly when the spring wedge assembly is assembled onto the spring of the vehicle to be towed.

4. A front tow extended saddle, comprising:

a forward portion for coupling to a towing vehicle;

a middle portion connected to the forward portion;

a rear portion connected to the middle portion; and

a connector connected to the rear portion, the connector for connecting the rear portion to one or both the springs and spring shackles of the vehicle to be towed, the connector comprising a spring wedge assembly connected to the rear portion.

5. The saddle according to claim 4 , wherein the forward portion comprises a pair of rails spaced apart and connected together by one or more cross members.

6. The saddle according to claim 4 , wherein the rear portion comprises a pair of rails spaced apart and connected together by one or more cross members.

7. The saddle according to claim 5 , wherein the rear portion comprises a pair of spaced apart rails.

8. The saddle according to claim 4 , wherein the connector comprises a pair of spring wedge assemblies each connected to the rear portion by a strap.

9. The saddle according to claim 8 , wherein each spring wedge assembly comprises a pair of spaced apart plates connected together by a connecting plate.

10. The saddle according to claim 9 , wherein the plates are each provided with a through hole for accommodating a pin for connecting each spring wedge assembly to each strap.

11. The saddle according to claim 8 , wherein the rear portion comprises a pair of spaced apart rails, and each spring wedge assembly is connected to a rear end of each rail of the rear portion by each strap.

12. The saddle according to claim 9 , wherein each plate comprises a plate portion connected to an arm portion extending rearward from the plate portion when installed.

13. The saddle according to claim 4 , wherein the rear portion comprises a pair of spaced apart rails.

14. The saddle according to claim 13 , further comprising a pair of connecting forks connecting a respective pair of straps to end portions of the respective spaced apart rails.

15. The saddle according to claim 14 , wherein each connecting fork comprises a pair of spaced apart plates connected together by a tubing connector.

16. The saddle according to claim 15 , wherein a lower portion of each connecting fork is provided with a through hole extending through the spaced apart plates and tubing connector, and accommodating a pin pivotably connecting the respective connecting fork to the respective spaced apart rails of the rear portion.

17. The saddle according to claim 16 , wherein an upper portion of each connecting fork is provided with a through hole extending through the spaced apart plates, and accommodating a pin connecting each connecting fork to each respective strap.
