SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING A NETWORKED INFRASTRUCTURE DISTRIBUTION PLATFORM OF SMALL FIXED AND VEHICLE BASED WIND ENERGY GATHERING DEVICES ALONG ROADWAYS
A roadway system for energy generation and distribution is presented. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the roadway system comprises a plurality of wind energy generating devices, and a roadway system electricity grid. The wind energy generating devices are electrically connected to the roadway system electricity grid and are positioned on part of or near to a road in a system of roads and are optionally fixed in a position such that a multi-form, wind energy gathering network can be formed.
1 . A system, comprising:
a charging station;
a roadway electricity grid electrically connected to the charging station; and
a ground-based solar energy generating system, electrically connected to the roadway electricity grid, comprising a first plurality of solar energy generating devices positioned at least at one of: along a breakdown lane and a median of a roadway.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of solar energy generating devices are mounted on existing structures.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the existing structures comprise guardrails.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the ground-based solar energy generating system further comprises a second plurality of solar energy generating devices comprising lane markers.
5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the lane markers comprise spray on solar power cells.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of solar energy generating devices comprises a plurality of wind energy generating devices covered with solar energy generating material.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the roadway electricity grid includes an energy storage device, an inverter, a single power source changing unit, an electricity meter and a backup power device.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the solar energy generating system is configured to transfer the generated solar energy to the charging station via a conductive infrastructure.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the charging station is configured to transfer the generated solar energy to the roadway electricity grid.
10 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising an electric vehicle electrically connected to the roadway electricity grid, the electric vehicle comprising:
an energy storage device;
a controller; and
an electric motor, controlled by the controller, configured to drive the electric vehicle using energy from the energy storage device.
11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the energy storage device is configured to be recharged by the roadway electricity grid.
12 . A method, comprising:
electrically connecting a roadway electricity grid to:
a ground-based solar energy generating system, electrically connected to the roadway electricity grid and a charging station, the ground-based solar energy generating system comprising at least one of:
a first plurality of solar energy generating devices positioned at least at one of: along a breakdown lane and a median of the roadway, and
a second plurality of solar energy generating devices, positioned at least at one of: along the breakdown lane, the median of a roadway, and within the roadway, the second plurality of solar energy generating devices comprising lane markers;
generating power, by the solar energy generating system, from sunlight; and
storing the generated power in the charging station via the roadway electricity grid.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising transferring the generated solar energy to the charging station via a conductive infrastructure.
14 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising transferring the generated solar energy to the roadway electricity grid via the charging station.
15 . A system, comprising:
a charging station;
a roadway electricity grid electrically connected to the charging station; and
a ground-based solar energy generating system, electrically connected to the roadway electricity grid, positioned at least at one of: along a breakdown lane, a median of a roadway, and within the roadway, the ground-based solar energy generating system comprising a first plurality of solar energy generating devices comprising lane markers.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the lane markers comprise spray on solar power cells.
17 . The system of claim 15 , further comprising a second plurality of solar energy generating devices along the breakdown lane and median of the roadway.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the second plurality of solar energy generating devices are mounted on existing structures, the existing structures comprising guardrails.
19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the second plurality of solar energy generating devices comprises a plurality of wind energy generating devices covered with solar energy generating material.
20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the solar energy generating system is configured to transfer the generated solar energy to the charging station via a conductive infrastructure, and the charging station is configured to transfer the generated solar energy to the roadway electricity grid.
