Abstract

A method includes receiving, by a user device, information regarding a sensed condition in a structure, wherein the sensed condition is sensed by a sensory node. The method also includes generating, by the user device, a notification to a user of the user device, where the notification identifies the sensed condition. The method also includes determining, by the user device, whether the sensed condition exceeds a threshold. The method further includes identifying one or more actions that can be performed by the user in response to the sensed condition, where the one or more actions are based at least in part on the determining of whether the sensed condition exceeds the threshold.

Claims (31)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a user device, information regarding a sensed condition in a structure, wherein the sensed condition is sensed by a sensory node;

generating, by the user device, a notification to a user of the user device, wherein the notification identifies the sensed condition;

determining, by the user device, whether the sensed condition exceeds a threshold; and

identifying, by the user device, one or more actions that can be performed by the user in response to the sensed condition, wherein the one or more actions are based at least in part on the determining of whether the sensed condition exceeds the threshold.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more actions include contacting an emergency response center.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving one or more attributes of the sensed condition, wherein an attribute comprises a temperature of a specific room within the structure.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising contacting, by the user device, an emergency response center to assist with resolution of the sensed condition.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, at the user device and from an emergency response center, information to assist with resolution of the sensed condition.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the information comprises instructions regarding how to perform emergency care.

7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the information comprises directions to a nearest fire extinguisher within the structure.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing, by the user device and to an emergency response center, an indication that the sensed condition is a false alarm.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing, by the user device and to an emergency response center, a number of false alarms that occurred in the past with respect to the sensed condition.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sensed condition comprises a detected occupancy of the structure that exceeds a predetermined threshold.

11 . A system comprising:

a sensory node configured to

transmit data to a user device via a wireless communication network in response to the user device being within a communication range of the sensory node, wherein the data comprises information related to a sensed condition; and

store the data if the user device is not within the communication range; and

the user device, wherein the user device is configured to:

generate a notification to a user of the user device, wherein the notification identifies the sensed condition;

determine whether the sensed condition exceeds a threshold; and

identify one or more actions that can be performed by the user in response to the sensed condition, wherein the one or more actions are based at least in part on the determination of whether the sensed condition exceeds the threshold.

12 . The system of claim 11 , further comprising an emergency response server, wherein the emergency response server is configured to receive an indication of the sensed condition from at least one of the user device and the sensory node.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the emergency response server is configured to receive a number of false alarms that occurred in the past with respect to the sensed condition.

14 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the emergency response server is configured to receive video from the structure that displays the sensed condition.

15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more actions include contacting an emergency response server.

16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user device is configured to receive one or more attributes of the sensed condition from the sensory node, wherein an attribute comprises a temperature of a specific room within the structure.

17 . The system of claim 11 , further comprising receiving, at the user device and from an emergency response server, information to assist with resolution of the sensed condition.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the information comprises instructions regarding how to perform emergency care.

19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the information comprises directions to a nearest fire extinguisher within the structure.

20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the sensed condition comprises a detected occupancy of the structure that exceeds a predetermined threshold.
