Abstract

A method of increasing differentiation of a cell line of glioblastoma cells is disclosed. A platelet-rich plasma (PRP) composition is prepared. The glioblastoma cells are cultured in the PRP composition for a time period sufficient for differentiation of the glioblastoma cells.

Claims (8)

1 . A method of increasing differentiation of a cell line of glioblastoma cells comprising:

preparing a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) composition; and

culturing glioblastoma cells in the PRP composition for a time period sufficient for differentiation of the glioblastoma cells, wherein the PRP composition does not contain an exogenous activator.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the formulation is buffered to pH 7.4+/−5%.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the PRP composition is prepared from whole blood or bone marrow aspirate.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein preparing the PRP composition comprises processing the PRP composition in a manner which breaks open the platelets, thereby obtaining a PRP releasate.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the processing comprises exposing the PRP composition to energy waves.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the PRP composition is sonicated.
