Abstract

A telecommunications cabinet includes a cabinet housing; a fiber optic splitter; a plurality of spools disposed on a cable management surface; a panel oriented at a fixed angle relative to the access opening so that the panel extends laterally and rearwardly between the access opening and the cable management surface; and a plurality of adapters disposed on the panel.

Claims (22)

1. A telecommunications cabinet comprising:

a cabinet housing having an open front and a rear, the open front providing access to an interior of the cabinet housing, the cabinet housing including a door that moves between a closed position covering at least part of the open front and an open position allowing access to the interior through the access opening;

a fiber optic splitter disposed within the interior of the cabinet housing;

a cable management panel disposed within the interior of the cabinet housing, the cable management panel extending generally vertically;

a plurality of bend radius protectors disposed on the cable management panel;

a plurality of adapter modules disposed within the interior of the cabinet housing, each adapter module having one end coupled to the cable management panel, the adapter modules being grouped together in a connection stack that extends across a majority of a height of the open front, each adapter modules including a front face that is angled with respect to the open front of the cabinet housing, each adapter module carrying a plurality of optical adapters at the front faces of the adapter modules; and

a connector holder location within the interior of the cabinet housing separate from the connection stack.

2. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein each of the adapter modules carries fiber routing members.

3. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 2 , wherein the front faces are oriented at a fixed angle relative to the access opening so that the front faces extends laterally and rearwardly between the access opening and the cable management surface.

4. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 3 , wherein the connector holder location also is angled relative to the open front of the cabinet housing.

5. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 2 , wherein each adapter module includes a side wall extending rearwardly from the front face, each side wall defining a cable exit.

6. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein each front face defines a plurality of openings, each of the openings being sized and configured to receive a plurality of the optical adapters carried by the respective adapter module.

7. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 6 , wherein each front face defines two columns of openings.

8. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the connector holder location is defined by a connector holder module disposed within the interior of the cabinet housing.

9. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the cable management panel is disposed at a first side of the open front and wherein the connection stack extends between the cable management panel and an opposite second side of the open front.

10. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , further comprising a splice module disposed within the interior of the cabinet housing.

11. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 10 , wherein the splice module is mounted beneath the adapter modules.

12. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the door provides access to the front of the equipment and wherein connections a rear of the equipment are pre-cabled in a manufacturing factory.

13. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the connector holder location is disposed beneath the adapter modules.

14. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , further comprising a fanout module disposed within the interior of the cabinet housing.

15. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 14 , wherein the fanout module is mounted beneath the adapter modules.

16. The telecommunications cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the splitter is carried by one of the adapter modules.
