Abstract

The method for transmitting and receiving data at a base station in a wireless communication system according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: receiving a performance report from a terminal; determining whether the addition of a serving cell is necessary; when the addition of the serving cell is necessary, transmitting a request for receiving a cell identifying signal to one or more other base stations on the basis of the received performance repoπand transmitting a request for transmitting the cell identifying signal to the terminal. According to the embodiment, in a network in which a small cell and a macro cell are overlapped and operated, the terminal can minimize battery consumption and quickly recognize the small cell.

Claims (31)

1 . A data communication method of a base station of a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving a capability report from a terminal;

determining whether serving cell add is necessary;

transmitting, when the serving cell add is necessary, a cell identity signal reception request to at least one other base station based on the received capability report; and

transmitting a cell identity signal transmission request to the terminal.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting of the cell identity signal reception request comprises transmitting the cell identity signal request to other base stations deployed around the terminal based on the received capability report.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting of the cell identity signal transmission request comprises transmitting information including at least one of frequency on which the cell identity transmission request is transmitted based on the received capability report, transmission power information, and transmission time period.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a cell identity signal reception acknowledgement message from the at least one other base station;

determining a serving cell to be added based on the cell identity signal reception acknowledgement message; and

adding the serving cell based on the determined serving cell.

The method of claim 4 , wherein the determining of the serving cell to be added comprises determining the serving cell to be added based on at least one of received signal strength of a received small cell identity signal included in the cell identity signal reception acknowledgement message, preamble index, and reception time.

6 . A data communication method of a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting a capability report of a terminal to a base station;

receiving a cell identity signal transmission request determined based on the terminal capability report from the base station; and

transmitting a cell identity signal to other base stations based on the cell identity signal transmission request.

The method of claim 6 , wherein the receiving of the cell identity signal transmission request comprises receiving information including at least one of frequency on which the cell identity transmission request is transmitted based on the received capability report, transmission power information, and transmission time period.

The method of claim 6 , wherein the receiving of the cell identity signal transmission request comprises transmitting the cell identity signal based on the frequency on which the cell identity transmission request is transmitted based on the received capability report, transmission power information, and transmission time period.

9 . A base station communicating data in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:

a transceiver which receives a capability report from a terminal; and

a controller which determines necessity of adding a serving cell,

wherein the transceiver transmits, when the serving cell add is necessary, a cell identity signal reception request to at least one other base station based on the received capability report and transmits a cell identity signal transmission request to the terminal.

10 . The base station of claim 9 , wherein the transceiver transmits the cell identity signal request to other base stations deployed around the terminal based on the received capability report.

11 . The base station of claim 9 , wherein the transceiver transmits information including at least one of frequency on which the cell identity transmission request is transmitted based on the received capability report, transmission power information, and transmission time period.

The base station of claim 9 , wherein the transceiver receives a cell identity signal reception acknowledgement message from the at least one other base station, and the controller determines a serving cell to be added based on the cell identity signal reception acknowledgement message and adds the serving cell based on the determined serving cell.

13 . The base station of claim 12 , wherein the controller determines the serving cell to be added based on at least one of received signal strength of a received small cell identity signal included in the cell identity signal reception acknowledgement message, preamble index, and reception time.

14 . A terminal communicating data in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:

a transceiver which transmit a capability report of a terminal to a base station and receives a cell identity signal transmission request determined based on the terminal capability report from the base station; and

a controller which controls the transceiver to transmit a cell identity signal to other base stations based on the cell identity signal transmission request.

15 . The terminal of claim 14 , wherein the transceiver receives information including at least one of frequency on which the cell identity transmission request is transmitted based on the received capability report, transmission power information, and transmission time period.

16 . The terminal of claim 15 , wherein the transceiver transmits the cell identity signal based on the frequency on which the cell identity transmission request is transmitted based on the received capability report, transmission power information, and transmission time period.
