Abstract

A sterile composition which comprises a protein and an aliphatic polyester containing the protein and is sterilized with radiation. In this sterile composition, the structure and function (activity) of the protein are retained.

Claims (6)

1. A sterile composition sterilized with radiation comprising an aliphatic polyester and a protein selected from the group consisting of fibrinogen, enzymes, transport proteins, defense proteins, toxin proteins, protein hormones, growth factors and mixtures thereof, wherein at least part of the protein enters the inside of the aliphatic polyester as dispersion of particles of the protein or particles of a mixture of the protein and pharmaceutically acceptable additives, and wherein the sizes of the particles are not less than 0.01 μm.

2. The sterile composition according to claim 1 , wherein the aliphatic polyester is selected from the group consisting of polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid, polycaprolactone, copolymers thereof and mixtures thereof.

3. The sterile composition according to claim 1 which is in a fiber form.

4. The sterile composition according to claim 3 which is produced by an electro spinning method.

5. The sterile composition according to claim 1 which is in a film form.

6. The sterile composition according to claim 5 which is produced by a casting method.
