COMPOSITIONS WITH ENHANCED DEPTH OF COLOR
The present provides cosmetic compositions such as mascara. More specifically, the invention relates to cosmetic compositions comprising low opacity waxes.
1 . A cosmetic composition comprising:
(a) a wax component comprising one or more low opacity waxes; said wax component having a ΔL* value of less than 8 and comprising about 10% by weight or more of said composition; and
(b) one or more pigments;
said composition having a viscosity between about 250,000 and about 2,000,000 cps.
2 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein each of said one or more waxes has a ΔL* value of less than 8.
3 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein the wax component comprises silicone wax.
4 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the wax component consists predominantly of silicone wax and beeswax.
5 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein the wax component consists essentially of silicone wax and beeswax.
6 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein the cosmetic composition is a mascara.
7 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein the cosmetic composition is in the form of an emulsion.
8 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein the cosmetic composition is anhydrous.
9 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 1 , wherein the pigment comprises iron oxide and/or carbon black.

12 . A cosmetic composition comprising at least 10% by weight wax, said wax consisting predominantly of silicone wax and beeswax, and one or more pigments; wherein the composition is a liquid, and has a viscosity between about 250,000 and about 2,000,000 cps.
13 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 12 , further comprising a gel component.
14 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 12 , wherein the cosmetic composition is a mascara.
15 . A cosmetic composition comprising:
(a) a gel component having a ΔL* value less than 7.5;
(b) a wax component comprising one or more waxes; said wax component having a ΔL* value of less than 8 and comprising about 10% by weight or more of said composition; and
(c) one or more pigments;
said composition having a viscosity between about 250,000 and about 2,000,000 cps.

17 . The composition according to claim 15 , wherein each of said one or more waxes has a ΔL* value of less than 8.
18 . The composition according to claim 15 , wherein the wax component comprises silicone wax.
19 . The composition according to claim 15 , wherein the wax component consists predominantly of silicone wax and beeswax.
20 . The composition according to claim 15 , wherein the wax component consists essentially of silicone wax and beeswax.
21 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 15 , wherein the cosmetic composition is a mascara.
22 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 15 , wherein the cosmetic composition is in the form of an emulsion.
23 . The cosmetic composition according to claim 15 , wherein the cosmetic composition is anhydrous.
