Dosing regimen for Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitors
View Patent ↗The present invention provides a method for treating allergic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, or one or more symptoms thereof in a mammal in need, which method comprises administering to the mammal a first therapeutically effective dose of a Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor twice a day for a number of days sufficient to ease or eliminate one or more clinical signs in the mammal, followed by a second therapeutically effective dose of the JAK inhibitor at a reduced frequency.

A method for treating allergic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, or one or more symptoms thereof in a dog in need, which method comprises administering to a dog a first therapeutically effective dose of the Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor, N-methyl-1-{trans-4-[methyl(7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)amino]cyclohexyl}-methanesulfonamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, twice a day for up to 14 days, to ease or eliminate one or more clinical signs in the dog, followed by a second therapeutically effective dose of the JAK inhibitor at a reduced frequency of once a day.
2. The method according to claim 1 for treating pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis or pruritus associated with atopic dermatitis.
3. The method according to claim 1 wherein the first therapeutically effective dose and the second therapeutically effective dose are administered orally.
4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first therapeutically effective dose is from about 0.4 to about 0.6 mg/kg body weight of the dog.
5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the second therapeutically effective dose is from about 0.4 to about 0.6 mg/kg body weight of the dog.
