Abstract

Claims (22)

1. A golf ball comprising:

a core;

at least one intermediate layer encasing the core;

at least one cover layer encasing the at least one intermediate layer;

wherein the cover layer is translucent, and wherein the at least one intermediate layer comprises a visually enhancing means comprising a color effect providing pigment comprising at least one of: (1) calcium aluminum borosilicate coated with a metal oxide; and (2) silicon dioxide platelets coated with metal oxide.

2. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the visually enhancing means highlights a contrast between the intermediate layer and the cover.

3. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein said core is at least partially visible.

4. The golf ball of claim 3 , wherein the visually enhancing means highlights a contrast between the intermediate layer and the core.

5. The golf ball of claim 3 , wherein the core comprises a visually enhanced layer comprising metallics, fluorescents, phosphorescents, luminescents, pearlescents, optical brighteners, pigments, dyes and/or tinting agents.

6. A golf ball comprising:

a core;

at least one intermediate layer encasing the core;

at least one cover layer encasing the at least one intermediate layer;

wherein the cover layer is translucent; and

wherein at least one of the core, intermediate layer and cover comprises a visually enhancing means comprising a color effect providing pigment comprising at least one of: (1) calcium aluminum borosilicate coated with a metal oxide; and (2) silicon dioxide platelets coated with metal oxide.

7. The golf ball of claim 6 , wherein the visually enhancing means highlights a contrast between two golf ball layers.

8. A golf ball comprising:

a core;

at least one intermediate layer encasing the core;

at least one cover layer encasing the at least one intermediate layer;

wherein the cover layer is translucent, and wherein at least one of the core, intermediate layer and cover comprises a visually enhancing means consisting of a color effect providing pigment consisting of at least one of: (1) calcium aluminum borosilicate coated with a metal oxide; and (2) silicon dioxide platelets coated with metal oxide.

9. The golf ball of claim 8 , wherein the core comprises an inner core and an outer core layer and the specific gravity of said inner core is different than the specific gravity of the outer core layer.
