Abstract

An apparatus and a method for operating a mobile station in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes receiving first information transmitted on a secondary carrier from a base station, and transmitting second information for feedback related to the secondary carrier at a feedback region in a primary carrier based on the first information to the base station.

Claims (60)

1. A method for operating a mobile station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving, by the mobile station, first information transmitted on a secondary carrier from a base station; and

transmitting, by the mobile station, second information for feedback related to the secondary carrier at a first feedback region in a primary carrier according to the first information to the base station.

2. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the primary carrier is used for a downlink signaling and an uplink signaling, and

wherein the secondary carrier is used for the downlink signaling.

3. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the primary carrier comprises a symmetric frequency band, and

wherein the secondary carrier comprises an asymmetric frequency band.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first information comprises indication information indicating the first feedback region in the primary carrier.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the first information comprises at least one of:

a number of feedback channels per the first feedback region;

a number of feedback channels per subframe; and

a start position of a feedback channel for the second information.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, by the mobile station, third information transmitted on the primary carrier from the base station; and

transmitting, by the mobile station, fourth information for feedback related to the primary carrier at a second feedback region in the primary carrier according to the third information to the base station.

7. A method for operating a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting, by the base station, first information on a secondary carrier to a mobile station; and

receiving, by the base station, second information for feedback related to the secondary carrier at a first feedback region in a primary carrier according to the first information from the mobile station.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the primary carrier comprises a symmetric frequency band and the secondary carrier comprises an asymmetric frequency band.

9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the first information comprises indication information indicating the first feedback region in the primary carrier.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the first information comprises at least one of:

a number of feedback channels per the first feedback region;

a number of feedback channels per subframe; and

a start position of a feedback channel for the second information.

11. The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

transmitting, by the base station, third information transmitted on the primary carrier to the mobile station; and

receiving, by the base station, fourth information for feedback related to the primary carrier at a second feedback region in the primary carrier according to the third information from the mobile station.

12. An apparatus of a mobile station in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:

a receiver configured to receive first information transmitted on a secondary carrier from a base station; and

a transmitter configured to transmit second information for feedback related to the secondary carrier at a first feedback region in a primary carrier according to the first information to the base station.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 ,

wherein the primary carrier is used for a downlink signaling and an uplink signaling, and

wherein the secondary carrier is used for the downlink signaling.

14. The apparatus of claim 12 ,

wherein the primary carrier comprises a symmetric frequency band, and

wherein the secondary carrier comprises an asymmetric frequency band.

15. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the first information comprises indication information indicating the first feedback region in the primary carrier.

16. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the first information comprises at least one of:

a number of feedback channels per the first feedback region;

a number of feedback channels per subframe; and

a start position of a feedback channel for the second information.

17. The apparatus of claim 12 ,

wherein the receiver is further configured to receive third information transmitted on the primary carrier from the base station; and

wherein the transmitter is further configured to transmit fourth information for feedback related to the primary carrier at a second feedback region in the primary carrier according to the third information to the base station.

18. An apparatus of a base station in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:

a transmitter configured to transmit first information on a secondary carrier to a mobile station; and

a receiver configured to receive second information for feedback related to the secondary carrier at a first feedback region in a primary carrier according to the first information from the mobile station.

19. The apparatus of claim 18 ,

wherein the primary carrier comprises a symmetric frequency band, and

wherein the secondary carrier comprises an asymmetric frequency band.

20. The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the first information comprises indication information indicating the first feedback region in the primary carrier.

21. The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the first information comprises at least one of:

a number of feedback channels per the first feedback region;
