Abstract

Various embodiments of the present disclosure can include systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media configured to display, by a computing system, an arrangement of a plurality of content items in a first order. A reference content item may be highlighted at an initial position in the arrangement in response to a selection of the reference content item. The reference content item may be moved to another position in the arrangement in response to a motion input relating to the reference content item to create a second order of the plurality of content items. An arrangement of the plurality of content items may be displayed in the second order.

Claims (34)

1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:

displaying, by a computing system, an arrangement of a plurality of content items in a first order;

highlighting a reference content item at an initial position in the arrangement in response to a selection of the reference content item;

moving the reference content item to another position in the arrangement in response to a motion input relating to the reference content item to create a second order of the plurality of content items; and

displaying an arrangement of the plurality of content items in the second order.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the arrangement of the plurality of content items in the first order is a first list and the arrangement of the plurality of content items in the second order is a second list.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first order corresponds to an order the content items were uploaded for a story.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of content items comprises a plurality of one or more of: digital images, digital audio, digital video, map data, hashtags, and social tags.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein highlighting the reference content item comprises darkening the reference content item in a content reordering screen when the reference content item is selected.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying a shadow at the other position when the reference content item can be inserted at the other position.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the selection comprises at least one of a long press, a double-click, or a right-click.

8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the motion input comprises a horizontal swipe of the reference content item that moves away from other content items of the plurality of content items.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the motion input comprises a horizontal drag of the reference content item that moves away from other content items of the plurality of content items

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the motion input comprises a vertical swipe of the reference content item that reranks the reference content item.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the motion input comprises a vertical drag of the reference content item that reranks the reference content item.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein moving the reference content item comprises removing the reference item from the initial position, and reinserting the reference content item into the other position.

13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein moving the reference content item includes configuring a content reordering screen to scroll the plurality of content items.

14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , wherein the configuring includes scrolling the plurality of content items at scroll speeds based at least in part on a distance between a cursor or touchpoint and the initial position of the reference content item.

15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising generating a content reordering screen in response to the selection of the reference content item in a story creation screen.

16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 15 , wherein the content reordering screen displays at least a portion of the plurality of content items in a vertical format optimized for viewing in a viewport of a mobile device.

17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 15 , wherein a display size of at least one of the plurality of content items in the content reordering screen display is different from a display size of the at least one of the plurality of content items in the story creation screen.

18 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the motion input is applied to a touchscreen display.

19 . A system comprising:

at least one processor; and

a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform:

displaying, by a computing system, an arrangement of a plurality of content items in a first order;

highlighting a reference content item at an initial position in the arrangement in response to a selection of the reference content item;

moving the reference content item to another position in the arrangement in response to a motion input relating to the reference content item to create a second order of the plurality of content items; and

displaying an arrangement of the plurality of content items in the second order.

20 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing system, cause the computing system to perform:

displaying, by a computing system, an arrangement of a plurality of content items in a first order;

highlighting a reference content item at an initial position in the arrangement in response to a selection of the reference content item;

moving the reference content item to another position in the arrangement in response to a motion input relating to the reference content item to create a second order of the plurality of content items; and

displaying an arrangement of the plurality of content items in the second order.
