Abstract

A filled large-format imprinted structure includes a substrate, a first cured layer located over the substrate, a first micro-cavity imprinted in the first cured layer, and a first cured material of a first color located in the first micro-cavities. A second cured layer is located over the first cured layer and a second micro-cavity is imprinted in the second cured layer. A second cured material of a second color is located in the second micro-cavities. A third cured layer is located over the second cured layer and a third micro-cavity is imprinted in the third cured layer. A third cured material of a third color is located in the third micro-cavities, thereby defining a large-format imprinted structure.

3. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 1 , wherein the first cured layer is cross-linked to the first cured material, the second cured layer is cross-linked to the second cured material, the third cured layer is cross-linked to the third cured material, the first cured layer is cross-linked to the second cured layer, or the second cured layer is cross-linked to the third cured layer.

4. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 1 , wherein the first cured material has a thickness that is different from the thickness of the second cured material, the first cured material has a thickness that is different from the thickness of the third cured material, or the second cured material has a thickness that is different from the thickness of the third cured material.

5. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 1 , wherein the first micro-cavity has a spatial area that is different from the spatial area of the second micro-cavity, the first micro-cavity has a spatial area that is different from the spatial area of the third micro-cavity, or the second micro-cavity has a spatial area that is different from the spatial area of the third micro-cavity.

6. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 1 , wherein the first micro-cavities are spaced apart by first gaps, the second micro-cavities are spaced apart by second gaps, and the third micro-cavities are spaced apart by third gaps in a direction parallel to a surface of the substrate.

7. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 6 , wherein the first micro-cavities are located beneath the second gaps or the third gaps.

8. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 6 , wherein the second micro-cavities are located above the first gaps or beneath the third gaps.

9. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 6 , wherein the third micro-cavities are located above the first gaps or above the second gaps.

10. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 6 , wherein the first micro-cavities are located at least partially beneath the second micro-cavities and at least partially beneath the second gaps or are located at least partially beneath the third micro-cavities and at least partially beneath the third gaps.

11. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 6 , wherein the second micro-cavities are located at least partially beneath the third micro-cavities and at least partially beneath the third gaps.

12. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 6 , further including a first micro-cavity adjacent to a second micro-cavity adjacent to a third micro-cavity forming a first group, a different first micro-cavity adjacent to a different second micro-cavity adjacent to a different third micro-cavity forming a second group, the first micro-cavity separated from the second micro-cavity by a first gap and the first group separated from the second group by a second gap larger than the first gap.

13. The filled large-format imprinted structure of claim 1 , further including:
