Abstract

Embodiments of systems and methods for browsing offline and queried content are presented herein. Specifically, embodiments may receive a request for content from a mobile application. Embodiments may also determine whether the requested content is in a cache associated with the mobile application. If it is determined that the content is not in the cache, embodiments may deliver the requested content to the mobile application.

Claims (51)

1. A system for browsing content comprising:

a platform coupled to a network, including:

a processor; and

a computer readable medium comprising instructions configured to:

receive a request for content from a mobile application on a mobile device;

determine whether the requested content is in a cache in association with the mobile application on the mobile device, and

if the content is not in the cache, deliver the requested content to the mobile application, wherein the requested content is configured to be presented to a user and is delivered with an instruction to store the requested content in the cache on the mobile device; and

update an index with an indication that the requested content was stored in the cache in association with the mobile application on the mobile device.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the indication includes a mobile application identifier for the mobile application.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the mobile application identifier is associated with a mobile device identifier associated with the mobile device.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the indication includes a content identifier for the requested content.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the instructions are further configured to:

determine that a version of the requested content stored in the cache on the mobile device is not a current version of the requested content based on the content identifier of the requested content;

deliver the current version of the requested content; and

update the index with a content identifier of the current version of the requested content.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further configured to:

determine that the requested content should be cached; and

deliver the requested content with rules designating conditions that are associated with the storing of the requested content in the cache.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further configured to synchronize the index with a state of content in the cache of the mobile device when the mobile device when mobile device initially connects to the platform.

8. A method for browsing content comprising

receiving a request for content from a mobile application on a mobile device at a platform coupled to a network;

determining whether the requested content is in a cache in association with the mobile application on the mobile device, and

if the content is not in the cache, delivering the requested content to the mobile application, wherein the requested content is configured to be presented to a user and is delivered with an instruction to store the requested content in the cache on the mobile device; and

updating an index with an indication that the requested content was stored in the cache in association with the mobile application on the mobile device.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the indication includes a mobile application identifier for the mobile application.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the mobile application identifier is associated with a mobile device identifier associated with the mobile device.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the indication includes a content identifier for the requested content.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining that a version of the requested content stored in the cache on the mobile device is not a current version of the requested content based on the content identifier of the requested content;

delivering the current version of the requested content; and

updating the index with a content identifier of the current version of the requested content.

13. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

determining that the requested content should be cached; and

delivering the requested content with rules designating conditions that associated with the storing of the requested content in the cache.

14. The method of claim 8 , further comprising: synchronizing the index with a state of content in the cache of the mobile device when the mobile device when mobile device initially connects to the platform.

15. A non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising instructions for:

receiving a request for content from a mobile application on a mobile device at a platform coupled to a network;

determining whether the requested content is in a cache in association with the mobile application on the mobile device, and

if the content is not in the cache, delivering the requested content to the mobile application, wherein the requested content is configured to be presented to a user and is delivered with an instruction to store the requested content in the cache on the mobile device; and

updating an index with an indication that the requested content was stored in the cache in association with the mobile application on the mobile device.

16. The computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the indication includes a mobile application identifier for the mobile application.

17. The computer readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the mobile application identifier is associated with a mobile device identifier associated with the mobile device.

18. The computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the indication includes a content identifier for the requested content.

19. The computer readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the instructions are further configured for:

determining that a version of the requested content stored in the cache on the mobile device is not a current version of the requested content based on the content identifier of the requested content;

delivering the current version of the requested content; and

updating the index with a content identifier of the current version of the requested content.

20. The computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions are further configured for:

determining that the requested content should be cached; and

delivering the requested content with rules designating conditions that associated with the storing of the requested content in the cache.

21. The computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions are further configured for synchronizing the index with a state of content in the cache of the mobile device when the mobile device when mobile device initially connects to the platform.
