METHOD FOR RETROFIT A CONDUCTIVE BAR
A yard includes an electric machine having a slot housing the conductive bar. The conductive bar includes a conductive element, and original insulation around the conductive element. The method includes removing the conductive bar from the slot, removing the original insulation from the conductive element, and applying new insulation around the conductive element on the yard.
1 . A method for retrofit a conductive bar,
wherein a yard includes an electric machine having a slot housing the conductive bar;
wherein the conductive bar includes:
a conductive element, and
original insulation around the conductive element;
wherein the method comprising:
removing the conductive bar from the slot,
removing the original insulation from the conductive element, and
applying new insulation around the conductive element,
wherein removing the conductive bar from the slot, the removing the original insulation from the conductive element, and the applying new insulation around the conductive element are carried out on the yard.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
defining a final size for the new insulation,
applying the new insulation with a size larger than the final size, and
removing the part of the new insulation in excess to the final size.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the removing the part of the new insulation in excess to the final size includes partially removing new insulation.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the partially removing new insulation includes partially removing new insulation from each side of the cross section of the new insulation.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the final size of the new insulation is equal to the size of the original insulation.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the applying new insulation around the conductive element includes:
wrapping an insulating tape around the conductive element,
providing a flexible sleeve around the conductive element having the insulating tape,
applying a vacuum into the flexible sleeve, and
applying heat to the insulating tape to form the new insulation.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the insulating tape in pre-impregnated with a resin.
8 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising supplying an impregnating resin into the flexible sleeve after applying a vacuum and before applying heat.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the resin is contained in a tank, wherein the position of the tank is regulated with respect to the position of the flexible sleeve to regulate the supply pressure of the resin.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing forming shapes around the insulated bar covered with the sleeve before curing.
