EXTERNAL USER INTERFACE FOR HEAD WORN COMPUTING
Aspects of the present invention relate to user interface control of a head-worn computer.
1 . A method of detecting user interaction with a virtual user interface, comprising:
a. Presenting to a user of a head-worn computer a virtual user interface that appears, from the user's perspective, to be positioned on a surface proximate the user;
b. Causing the user to position a finger of the user on the surface at a position that intersects, from the user's perspective, the user interface, forming an interaction pose;
c. Causing a detection system of the head-worn computer to capture the interaction pose, forming an interaction position; and
d. Storing the interaction position as a reference to determine future user interactions with the virtual user interface.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the virtual user interface is presented by projecting an image on to the surface.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the virtual user interface is presented as augmented reality content in a see-through display of the head-worn computer.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the detection system is a stereo camera system.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the detection system is a structured light system that produces a structured pattern of light and the detection is based on an interference pattern resulting in the pattern of light.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the detection system is a time of flight measurement system.
