Abstract

Long-lasting fragrance delivery systems and uses of the systems to provide fragrance-emitting articles with a long-lasting fragrance are disclosed herein. The long-lasting fragrance delivery systems include an emulsion of silicone-based polyurethane, fragrance, and a carrier.

Claims (16)

1. A fragrance-emitting article comprising a substrate comprising a film layer, the film layer comprising a silicone-based polyurethane having a polymeric backbone comprising at least one lipophilic moiety and at least one hydrophilic moiety and a fragrance, wherein the silicone-based polyurethane and fragrance are present in a weight ratio of silicone-based polyurethane:fragrance of from about 1:3 to about 3:1.

2. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the polymeric backbone comprises a bis-(polyethylene glycol) x dimethicone, wherein x ranges from 8 to 20.

3. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 2 , wherein the polymeric backbone further comprises isophorone diisocyanate.

4. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the film layer further comprises a carrier selected from the group consisting of water, methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, butanol, and combinations thereof.

5. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the silicone-based polyurethane and fragrance are present in a weight ratio of silicone-based polyurethane:fragrance of from about 1:2 to about 2:1.

6. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the silicone-based polyurethane and fragrance are present in a weight ratio of silicone-based polyurethane:fragrance of about 1:1.

7. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the substrate is a nonwoven substrate.

8. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the substrate is an elastomeric substrate.

9. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the fragrance-emitting article is selected from the group consisting of a patch, an absorbent article, tissue paper, cardboard packaging, clothing, paper towels, and napkins.

10. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the fragrance includes an oil.

11. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 10 , wherein the oil includes at least one of lavender, orange, peppermint and combinations thereof.

12. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the film layer comprises a second fragrance.

13. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 12 , wherein the second fragrance is encapsulated.

14. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 1 , wherein the film layer further comprises at least one emollient, at least one skin barrier enhancer, at least one humectant, at least one deodorant, at least one moisture absorbent, and combinations thereof.

15. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 14 , wherein the at least one emollient is selected from the group consisting of esters, ethers, fatty alcohols, hydrocarbons, silicones and combinations thereof.

16. The fragrance-emitting article of claim 14 , wherein the at least one humectant is selected from the group consisting of glycerin, butylene glycol, betaine, sodium hyaluronate and combinations thereof.
