Presentation of candidate domain name bundles in a user interface
View Patent ↗A system and method for the generation and presentation of candidate domain names are presented. The method includes receiving, by at least one server communicatively coupled to a network, a request to access or purchase access to a software application, the request being received from a user. Keywords associated with at least one of the user, a website of the user, and a business of the user are generated and a candidate domain name relevant to the keywords is generated. A user interface is displayed including the candidate domain name. The user interface enables the user to register the candidate domain name. A plurality of candidate domain names may be generated and organized into carousels or stacks according to a common theme. The candidate domain names may be displayed on a user interface and arranged thereon according to a relevance score of the domain name bundles.
1. A method of displaying candidate domain names for registration by a user, the method comprising:
presenting, by a computer server in electronic communication with a computer network to a user via a user device in electronic communication with the computer network, a user interface;
the user interface comprising a carousel comprising a plurality of bundles, each bundle comprising a plurality of the candidate domain names, the plurality of bundles comprising a first bundle related to a characteristic of the user comprising a name of the user, a name of a business of the user, an address of the business, a location of the user, a location of the business, a purchase history of the user or an ownership of other domain names and a second bundle, different from the first bundle, related to input data specified by the user, and the carousel enabling the user to paginate through the bundles; and
the user interface further comprising a selection mechanism to permit the selection of at least one relevant bundle from the plurality of bundles, to thereby enable the user to formulate a request to register the candidate domain names in the relevant bundle.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein each candidate domain name is derived from the input data specified by the user combined with one of multiple TLD extensions.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the carousel includes one or more caret buttons available to the user on the user interface to permit pagination through the bundles.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface further comprises at least one page number indicator displayed to the user during pagination through the bundles.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein each bundle comprises a theme corresponding to one or both of the input data and the user.
6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the theme of each bundle further corresponds to additional data including at least one of price sensitivity of the user, prior purchase patterns of the user and user type.
7. The method of claim 1 wherein the candidate domain names included in each of the bundles are provided on the user interface in a list of at least two relevant names.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of a discount price, a retail price, and a savings value is displayed on the user interface for each of the at least one bundle.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selection mechanism includes a button accessible by the user on the user interface, the button, upon selection, permitting the user to purchase the at least one relevant bundle.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the carousel comprises a plurality of pages and displays one or more of the bundles on each page, each page comprising a different subset of the bundles from the other pages.
11. The method of claim 10 , wherein one or more of the pages comprises a plurality of the bundles.
12. The method of claim 10 , wherein each page comprises one of the bundles.
13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more bundles on each page are displayed horizontally adjacent to each other.
14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the user paginates horizontally through the bundles.
15. A method of displaying candidate domain names for registration by a user, the method comprising:
obtaining, by a computer server in electronic communication with a computer network, a web page comprising a user interface;
receiving, by the computer server from a user via a user device in electronic communication with the computer network, a user query for a domain name comprising input data; and
presenting, by the computer server to the user via the user device, the web page;
the user interface comprising a carousel comprising a plurality of bundles, each bundle comprising a plurality of the candidate domain names, the plurality of bundles comprising a first set related to a characteristic of a website to be hosted at or accessible from the domain name and a second set, different from the first set, related to the input data, and the carousel enabling the user to paginate through the bundles; and
the user interface further comprising a selection mechanism to permit the selection of at least one relevant bundle from the plurality of bundles, to thereby enable the user to formulate a request to register the candidate domain names in the relevant bundle.
16. The method of claim 15 , wherein each bundle comprises a theme corresponding to the input data or a theme corresponding to the characteristic of the website to be hosted at or accessible from the domain name.
17. The method of claim 15 , wherein at least one of a discount price, a retail price, and a savings value is displayed on the user interface for each of the plurality of bundles.
18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the carousel comprises a plurality of pages and displays one or more of the bundles on each page, each page comprising a different subset of the bundles from the other pages.
