Abstract

Vascular treatment and methods include a plurality of self-expanding bulbs and a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Joints between woven structures and hypotubes include solder. Woven structures include patterns of radiopaque filaments measureable under x-ray. Structures are heat treated to include at least shapes at different temperatures. A catheter includes a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Heat treating systems include a detachable flange. Laser cutting systems include a fluid flow system.

Claims (49)

1. A device for treating a thrombus in a vessel, the device comprising:

a textile structure comprising a plurality of filaments woven together,

the plurality of filaments comprising:

a plurality of radiopaque filaments, and

a plurality of shape memory filaments,

the textile structure configured to self-expand from a radially collapsed state to a radially expanded state upon release from a microcatheter,

the textile structure having a braid angle between 130° and 160°,

the textile structure having a pics per inch between 150 and 190,

the textile structure, in the radially expanded state, comprising an undulating shape comprising:

hills, and

valleys between the hills;

a delivery system having a distal end; and

a bond comprising the distal end of the delivery system fixably coupled to a first end of the textile structure, wherein a second end of the textile structure is free.

2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first end is a proximal end of the textile structure.

3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the bond comprises the first end of the textile structure inlay bonded to the distal end of the delivery system.

4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the bond comprises the first end of the textile structure overlay bonded to the distal end of the delivery system.

5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the textile structure comprises a narrow distal tip.

The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of radiopaque filaments are grouped to increase radiopacity during fluoroscopy, wherein at least two of the hills have different diameters in the radially expanded state, wherein at least two of the hills have different shapes in the radially expanded state, and wherein a ratio of rotation of the delivery system to rotation of the textile structure is not 1:1.

7. A device for treating a thrombus in a vessel, the device comprising:

a textile structure comprising a plurality of filaments woven together,

the textile structure configured to self-expand from a radially collapsed state to a radially expanded state upon release from a microcatheter,

the textile structure, in the radially expanded state, comprising an undulating shape comprising:

hills, and

valleys between the hills; and

a delivery system having a distal end;

wherein the distal end of the delivery system is fixably coupled to a first end of the textile structure,

wherein a second end of the textile structure is free, and

wherein a ratio of rotation of the delivery system to rotation of the textile structure is not 1:1.

8. The device of claim 7 , wherein the first end is a proximal end of the textile structure, and wherein the first end of the textile structure is inlay bonded to the distal end of the delivery system.

9. The device of claim 7 , wherein the first end of the textile structure is overlay bonded to the distal end of the delivery system.

10. The device of claim 7 , wherein the textile structure has at least one of a braid angle between 130° and 160° and a pics per inch between 150 and 190.

11. The device of claim 7 , wherein the textile structure has a radial force sufficient to expand a target vessel between 0% and 30%.

12. The device of claim 7 , wherein the textile structure comprises a narrow distal tip.

13. The device of claim 7 , wherein at least two of the hills have different diameters in the radially expanded state, and wherein at least two of the hills have different shapes in the radially expanded state.

14. A device for treating a thrombus in a vessel, the device comprising:

a textile structure comprising a plurality of filaments woven together,

the textile structure configured to self-expand from a radially collapsed state to a radially expanded state upon release from a microcatheter,

the textile structure, in the radially expanded state, comprising an undulating shape comprising:

hills, and

valleys between the hills; and

a delivery system having a distal end,

wherein the distal end of the delivery system is fixably coupled to a first end of the textile structure, and

wherein a second end of the textile structure is free.

15. The device of claim 14 , wherein the first end is a proximal end of the textile structure.

16. The device of claim 14 , wherein the first end of the textile structure is inlay bonded to the distal end of the delivery system.

17. The device of claim 14 , wherein the first end of the textile structure is overlay bonded to the distal end of the delivery system.

18. The device of claim 14 , wherein the textile structure comprises a narrow distal tip.

19. The device of claim 14 , wherein at least two of the hills have different diameters in the radially expanded state, wherein at least two of the hills have different shapes in the radially expanded state, and wherein the textile structure has a braid angle between 130° and 160° and a pics per inch between 150 and 190.

20. The device of claim 14 , wherein at least two of the hills have different diameters in the radially expanded state, and wherein a ratio of rotation of the delivery system to rotation of the textile structure is not 1:1.
