Computer-Implemented System And Method For Providing Emergency Services Notification Through A Centralized Parking Services Server
A computer-implemented system and method for managing a multiplicity of motor vehicle parking spaces through a centrally-located server is provided. A plurality of smart parking devices that are each physically proximate to and which correspond to at least one of the parking spaces is interfaced with the server. Further, a plurality of vehicle occupancy sensors that are also each physically proximate to and which correspond to at least one of the parking spaces is interfaced with the server. Use of the parking spaces are managed. Occupancy of each of the parking spaces by a motor vehicle is sensed through the nearest vehicle occupancy sensor. Use of the parking space is processed based on an identity of a driver of the motor vehicle through the nearest smart parking device. Emergency services for an individual are notified through one of the smart parking devices upon request.
1 . A computer-implemented system for providing emergency services notification through a centralized parking services server, comprising:
a centrally-located server configured to manage a multiplicity of motor vehicle parking spaces, to interface over a computer network, and to comprise a memory and a computer processor, the computer processor operatively coupled to the memory and configured to execute computer executable program modules, comprising:
a plurality of smart parking devices that are each physically proximate to and which correspond to at least one of the parking spaces, each of the smart parking devices interfaced with the server via the computer network;
a plurality of vehicle occupancy sensors that are also each physically proximate to and which correspond to at least one of the parking spaces, each of the smart parking devices interfaced with the server via the computer network; and
an emergency module executed by the server and configured to manage use of the parking spaces, comprising:
the vehicle occupancy sensor configured to sense occupancy of each of the parking spaces by a motor vehicle;
the smart parking device configured to process use of the parking space based on an identity of a driver of the motor vehicle; and
a notification module configured to notify emergency services for an individual through one of the smart parking devices upon request.
2 . A system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a contact module configured to contact the emergency services; and
the smart parking device configured to interface the individual directly to the emergency services.
3 . A system according to claim 2 , further comprising at least one of:
a phone on the smart parking device directly configured to connect the individual for a communication to an operator of the emergency services; and
the server configured to receive a message from the individual via a mobile device of the individual and forwarding the message to the emergency service.
4 . A system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
an image and sound module configured to trigger taking of digital images of an area surrounding the smart parking device from which the emergency service was notified through a camera and to record voice of the individual upon the request for the emergency service through a microphone.
5 . A system according to claim 4 , further comprising:
an upload module configured to upload the digital images of the area surrounding the smart parking device and the voice of the individual to a database interconnected to a server.
6 . A system according to claim 5 , further comprising:
a location module configured to identify a location of the parking device from which the emergency service was notified, time of each of the uploaded digital images was taken, and time of the uploaded voice was recorded; and
a tag module configured to tag each of the uploaded digital images and the uploaded voice with the identified time and location.
7 . A system according to claim 5 , further comprising at least one of:
a map module configured to display a map on the Web interface comprising the location of the parking device, nearby parking devices in the area, and uploaded digital images taken from the parking devices in the area; and
a log module configured to display a log on the Web interface comprising the uploaded voice of the individual.
8 . A system according to claim 5 , further comprising:
an event module configured to create an emergency event based on the request;
an association module configured to associate the uploaded digital images and the uploaded voice with the emergency event; and
the server configured to display the emergency event associated with the uploaded digital images and uploaded voice on a Web interface through the computer network for a personnel of the emergency service.
9 . A system according to claim 8 , further comprising:
a modification module configured to receive a request for modifying the emergency event from the personnel of the emergency services, comprising at least one of:
a frequency module configured to set a frequency for taking the digital images by the smart parking device in a certain period based on time passage from the request for the emergency service; and
a range module configured to expand the area of the smart parking device for taking the digital images through smart parking devices which are located within the area.
10 . A system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a plurality of parking services kiosks that are each physically proximate to and which correspond to the plurality of the parking spaces; and
a kiosk module configured to notify the emergency services through one of the parking services kiosks for the individual upon request.
11 . A computer-implemented method for providing emergency services notification through a centralized parking services server, comprising:
managing a multiplicity of motor vehicle parking spaces through a centrally-located server, the server configured to interface over a computer network and comprising a memory and a computer processor, the computer processor operatively coupled to the memory and configured to execute computer executable program modules, comprising:
interfacing by the computer processor via the computer network a plurality of smart parking devices that are each physically proximate to and which correspond to at least one of the parking spaces;
interfacing by the computer processor via the computer network a plurality of vehicle occupancy sensors that are also each physically proximate to and which correspond to at least one of the parking spaces; and
managing by the server use of the parking spaces, comprising:
sensing occupancy of each of the parking spaces by a motor vehicle through the nearest vehicle occupancy sensor;
processing use of the parking space based on an identity of a driver of the motor vehicle through the nearest smart parking device; and
notifying emergency services for an individual through one of the smart parking devices upon request.
12 . A method according to claim 11 , further comprising:
contacting the emergency services through the server; and
interfacing the individual directly to the emergency services.
13 . A method according to claim 12 , further comprising at least one of:
directly connecting the individual for a communication to an operator of the emergency services through a phone on the smart parking device; and
receiving a message from the individual via a mobile device of the individual and forwarding the message to the emergency service through the server.
14 . A method according to claim 11 , further comprising:
triggering taking of digital images of an area surrounding the smart parking device from which the emergency service was notified through a camera and recording voice of the individual upon the request for the emergency service through a microphone.
15 . A method according to claim 14 , further comprising:
uploading the digital images of the area surrounding the smart parking device and the voice of the individual to a database interconnected to a server.
16 . A method according to claim 15 , further comprising:
identifying by the server a location of the parking device from which the emergency service was notified, time of each of the uploaded digital images was taken, and time of the uploaded voice was recorded; and
tagging by the server each of the uploaded digital images and the uploaded voice with the identified time and location.
17 . A method according to claim 15 , further comprising at least one of:
displaying a map on the Web interface comprising the location of the parking device, nearby parking devices in the area, and uploaded digital images taken from the parking devices in the area; and
displaying a log on the Web interface comprising the uploaded voice of the individual.
18 . A method according to claim 15 , further comprising:
creating by the server an emergency event based on the request;
associating by the server the uploaded digital images and the uploaded voice with the emergency event; and
displaying the emergency event associated with the uploaded digital images and uploaded voice on a Web interface via the server through the computer network for a personnel of the emergency service.
19 . A method according to claim 18 , further comprising:
receiving a request for modifying the emergency event from the personnel of the emergency services, comprising at least one of:
setting a frequency for taking the digital images by the smart parking device in a certain period based on time passage from the request for the emergency service; and
expanding the area of the smart parking device for taking the digital images through smart parking devices which are located within the area.
20 . A method according to claim 11 , further comprising:
interfacing by the computer processor via the computer network a plurality of parking services kiosks that are each physically proximate to and which correspond to the plurality of the parking spaces; and
notifying the emergency services through one of the parking services kiosks for the individual upon request.
