Abstract

A bioremodelable encasement structure comprising a pouch formed from at least one sheet of bioremodelable material, the pouch including an internal region that is configured to receive a device therein, the bioremodelable material comprising mesothelial tissue.

Claims (7)

1. A medical product, comprising:

a bioremodelable pouch structure comprising a bioremodelable composition, said bioremodelable composition comprising decellularized extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from mesothelial tissue and an exogenously added basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF),

said pouch structure comprising a sheet member having an internal region and an integral electrical lead conduit, said pouch structure internal region being configured to receive a pacemaker therein,

said electrical lead conduit comprising an elongated member extending from said pouch structure and an internal lumen that is configured to receive an electrical lead therein, said electrical lead conduit lumen being in communication with said pouch structure internal region; and

a first pacemaker disposed in said pouch structure internal region, wherein a medical product configured to modulate heart rate of a subject, when implanted in said subject, is formed,

said first pacemaker comprising an electrical lead, wherein at least a portion of said pacemaker electrical lead is disposed in said pouch structure elongated electrical lead conduit when said first pacemaker is disposed in said internal lumen of said pouch structure,

said medical product being further configured to induce modulated healing of damaged biological tissue when delivered to said damaged biological tissue, said modulated healing including induced host tissue proliferation, bioremodeling of said damaged biological tissue, and regeneration of new tissue structures and tissue structures with site-specific structural and functional properties.
