Abstract

Methods and systems for providing a gifting user access to a gift recipient's personal e-Book information are provided. A distinct gesture is correlated with each of a plurality of e-Book recipients. Determining when the distinct gesture correlated with one of the plurality of e-Book recipients is performed on at least one e-Book in an e-Bookstore. Automatically placing the at least one e-Book identified by the distinct gesture correlated with one of the plurality of e-Book recipients into a portion of a shopping multi-cart designated for the one of the plurality of e-Book recipients.

Claims (42)

1 . A system for providing a gifting user access to a gift recipient's persona e-Book information comprising:

a personalized e-Book information authorizer to authorize a gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information;

a personal e-Book information provider to present the gift recipient's personal e-Book information on an e-reading device of the authorized gifting user; and

a gift purchase provider to allow the gifting user to purchase an e-Book based on the gift recipient's personal e-Book information using a gifting user's own account and associate the e-Book with an e-Library of the gift recipient.

2 . The system of claim 1 wherein the personalized e-Book information authorizer receives a request for access from the gifting user.

3 . The system of claim 1 wherein the personalized e-Book information authorizer only authorizes the gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information for a predefined time period.

4 . The system of claim 1 wherein the personalized e-Book information authorizer only authorizes the gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information for a predefined time period on a recurring schedule.

5 . The system of claim 1 wherein the gift recipient's personal e-Book information includes information selected from the group consisting of: an e-Book rating, an e-Book review, a received e-Book recommendation, a result from a prior e-Book search, an e-Book in the e-Library of the gift recipient.

6 . The system of claim 1 wherein the personal e-Book information provider additionally (presents the e-Library of the gift recipient on the e-reading device of the authorized gifting user.

7 . The system of claim 1 wherein the e-Book is selected from the group consisting of: an e-novel, an e-magazine, an e-comic book, a PDF, and a scholarly article.

8 . A computing device comprising:

a memory that stores a set of instructions;

a display screen having touch functionality;

a processor that access the instructions in memory, the processor further configured to implement a method for providing a gifting user access to a gift recipient's personal e-Book information comprising:

authorizing a gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information;

presenting the gift recipient's personal e-Book information on an e-reading device of the authorized gifting user; user;

permitting the gifting user to purchase an e-Book based on the gift recipient's personal e-Book information using a gifting user's own account; and

associating the e-Book with an e-Library of the gift recipient.

9 . The computing device of claim 8 further comprising:

receiving a request for access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information from the gifting user prior to authorizing the gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information.

10 . The computing device of claim 8 further comprising:

authorizing a gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information for a predefined time period.

11 . The computing device of claim 8 further comprising:

authorizing a gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information for a predefined time period on a recurring schedule.

The computing device of claim 8 wherein the gift recipient's personal e-Book information includes information selected from the group consisting of: an e-Book rating, an e-Book review, a received e-Book recommendation, a result from a prior e-Book search, an e-Book in the e-Library of the gift recipient.

13 . The computing device of claim 8 further comprising:

presenting the e-Library of the gift recipient on the e-reading device of the authorized gifting user.

14 . The computing device of claim 8 wherein the e-Book is selected from the group consisting of: an e-novel, an e-magazine, an e-comic book, a PDF, and a scholarly article.

15 . A non-transitory computer implemented method for providing a gifting user access to a gift recipient's personal e-Book information, said method comprising:

receiving a request for access to a gift recipient's personal e-Book information from a gifting user;

authorizing the gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information;

presenting the gift recipient's personal e-Book information on an e-reading device of the authorized gifting user; user;

permitting the gifting user to purchase an e-Book based on the gift recipient's personal e-Book information using a gifting user's own account; and

associating the e-Book with an e-Library of the gift recipient.

16 . The non-transitory computer implemented method of claim 15 further comprising:

authorizing a gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information for predefined time period.

17 . The non-transitory computer implemented method of claim 15 further comprising:

authorizing a gifting user access to the gift recipient's personal e-Book information for a predefined time period on a recurring schedule.

The non-transitory computer implemented method of claim 15 wherein the gift recipient's personal e-Book information includes information selected from the group consisting of: an e-Book rating, an e-Book review, a received e-Book recommendation, a result from a prior e-Book search, an e-Book in the e-Library of the gift recipient.

19 . The non-transitory computer implemented method of claim 15 further comprising:

presenting the e-Library of the gift recipient on the e-reading device of the authorized gifting user.

20 . The non-transitory computer implemented method of claim 15 wherein the e-Book is selected from the group consisting of: an e-novel, an e-magazine, an e-comic book, a PDF, and a scholarly article.
