Abstract

A data file system includes one or more files about a patient wearing a wearable cardiac defibrillator (WCD) system that has been assigned to them. The one or more files contain at least one patient identifier of the patient, compliance data about a history of the patient's wearing the WCD system, and possibly other data. The data file system can be accessed through a communication network when the patient uses a communication device. When so accessed, some of the contents can be viewed on a screen of the device, for example in the form of a website. In embodiments, the health care provider and friends and family can view such data and even enter inputs, which may create a situation that motivates the patient to comply better.

determine whether the updated patient compliance data violates a compliance threshold; and

generate an alert when the updated patient compliance data violates the compliance threshold.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to cause the system to determine whether the patient is wearing the WCD system based on the received motion data by determining the patient is not wearing the WCD system when the motion data indicates no motion events.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the motion data includes a time of day and the one or more processors are configured to cause the system to determine whether the patient is wearing the WCD based on the time of day.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory is further configured to store defibrillation data and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to:

receive defibrillation event data based on a defibrillation event of the WCD system;

updated the defibrillation data with the defibrillation event data,

receive a request for the defibrillation data, and

generate in response to the request a defibrillation notification signal indicating the defibrillation data.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory is further configured to store WCD system battery data and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to:

receive WCD system battery level data based on a battery status of the WCD system;

updated the WCD system battery data with the WCD system battery level data,

generate an alert when the updated WCD system battery data violates a battery level threshold.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory is further configured to store a patient health goal and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to:

receive an update to a patient health goal, and

generative a health goal notification in response to the update to the patient health goal.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory is further configured to store patient physiological data and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to:

receive patient physiological data based on one or more sensors in the WCD system;

store the patient physiological data in the one or more memories;

receive a request for the patient physiological data; and

generate a signal indicating the patient physiological data in response to the request.

9. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a transmitter to transmit the notification signal to a remote device.

10. One or more non-transitory computer readable storage media having information stored thereon that, when processed by a processor of a compliance device of wearable cardiac defibrillator (WCD) system, cause the compliance device to:

receive motion data based on at least one motion sensor in the WCD system indicating motion of the WCD system,

determine whether a patient is wearing the WCD system based on the received motion data,

determine a time period the patient is not wearing the WCD system,

generate patient compliance data based on the determination of whether the patient is wearing the WCD,

update existing patient compliance data with the generated patient compliance data,

generate a notification signal including the updated existing patient compliance data, and

generate an alert if the time period is greater than a time threshold.

11. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the information further cause the compliance device to:

determine whether the updated existing patient compliance data violates a compliance threshold; and

generate an alert when the updated existing patient compliance data violates the compliance threshold.

12. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the information further cause the compliance device to determine whether the patient is wearing the WCD system based on the received motion data by determining the patient is not wearing the WCD system when the motion data indicates no motion events.

13. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the motion data includes a time of day and the information further cause the compliance device to determine whether the patient is wearing the WCD based on the time of day.

14. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the information further cause the compliance device to:

receive defibrillation event data based on a defibrillation event of the WCD system;

receive a request for the defibrillation event data, and

generate in response to the request a defibrillation notification signal indicating the defibrillation event data.

15. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the information further cause the compliance device to:

receive a WCD system battery level data based on a battery status of the WCD system;

generate an alert when the updated WCD system battery data violates a battery level threshold.

16. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the information further cause the compliance device to:

receive an update to a patient health goal, and

generate a health goal notification in response to the update to the patient health goal.

17. The one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the information further cause the compliance device to:

receive patient physiological data based on one or more sensors in the WCD system;

receive a request for the patient physiological data; and

generate a signal indicating the patient physiological data in response to the request.

18. A method for monitoring compliance of a patient wearing a wearable cardia defibrillator (WCD) system, comprising
