Automated Notification Systems and Methods That Communicate Advertisement Related Information Based Upon Personal Profiles

1 . An automated notification system that causes implementation of an advertisement service and an advance notification service, comprising:

computer program code stored in one or more memories and executed by one or more processors, the computer program code comprising:

(1) code to identify a party associated with a personal communication device (PCD);

(2) code to access personal profile information associated with the party;

(3) code to select advertisement related information based at least in part upon the personal profile information associated with the party or the PCD;

(4) code to cause the selected advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD as part of or about when a notification communication session occurs; and

(5) code to cause initiation of the notification communication session to the PCD to indicate impending pickup or delivery of a good or service by a mobile thing (MT) at a stop location.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising code to charge a fee for or cause receipt of a monetary benefit from providing the advertisement related information during the notification communication session.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the personal profile information includes historic information regarding prior purchases of the good or service or of other goods or services.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the personal profile information includes activities in which the party has been engaged.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the personal profile information includes historical travel information or current location information associated with the party.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the personal profile information includes topics in which the party has an interest.

7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising code to produce and store in the one or more memories the personal profile information.

8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising code to communicate a link to the PCD that enables the party to select and thereby accept the advertisement related information.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the advertisement related information is an electronic image.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the code to cause includes code to communicate a text message to the PCD.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the advertisement related information relates to an offering for sale of a good or service at or near the stop location.

12 . A system for advertising in connection with an automated computer based notification system, comprising:

(A) one or more memories;

(B) one or more processors; and

(C) computer program code stored in the one or more memories and executed by the one or more processors, the computer program code comprising:

(1) in connection with a notification service:

(a) code to monitor travel or location information associated with a mobile thing (MT); and

(b) code to engage in a notification communication session, based upon the travel or location information and upon the relationship of the MT to the stop location;

(2) in connection with an advertisement service:

(a) code to identify a party associated with a personal communication device (PCD);

(b) code to retrieve personal profile information associated with the party;

(c) code to select advertisement related information based at least in part upon the personal profile information associated with the party or the PCD; and

(d) code to cause the selected advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD as part of or about when the notification communication session occurs.

13 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising code to charge a fee for or cause receipt of a monetary benefit from providing the advertisement related information during the notification communication session.

14 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the personal profile information includes historic information regarding prior purchases of the good or service or of other goods or services.

15 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the personal profile information includes activities in which the party has been engaged.

16 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the personal profile information includes historical travel information or current location information associated with the party.

17 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the personal profile information includes topics in which the party has an interest.

18 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising code to produce and store in the one or more memories the personal profile information.

19 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising code to communicate a link to the PCD that enables the party to select and thereby receive the advertisement related information.

20 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the advertisement related information is an electronic image.

21 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the code to cause includes code to communicate a text message to the PCD.

22 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the advertisement related information relates to an offering for sale of a good or service at or near the stop location.

23 . A method for an automated notification system, comprising:

monitoring travel or location information of a mobile thing (MT) that is destined to pickup or deliver a good or service at a stop location;

engaging in a notification communication session between a personal communication device (PCD) associated with a party and the automated notification system when the MT is a predetermined proximity with respect to the stop location associated with the pickup or delivery of the good or service;

selecting advertisement related information based at least in part upon personal profile information associated with the party; and

causing the advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD.

24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising charging a fee for or monetarily benefiting from providing the advertisement related information during the notification communication session.

25 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the personal profile information includes historic information regarding prior purchases of the good or service or of other goods or services.

26 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the personal profile information includes activities in which the party has been engaged.

27 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the personal profile information includes historical travel information or current location information associated with the party.

28 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the personal profile information includes topics in which the party has an interest.

29 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising producing and storing in a memory the personal profile information.

30 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising communicating a link to the PCD that enables the party to select and thereby receive the advertisement related information.

31 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the advertisement related information is an electronic image.

32 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the causing includes communicating a text message to the PCD.

33 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the advertisement related information relates to an offering for sale of an item near the stop location.

34 . A method for an automated computer based notification system, comprising:

monitoring travel or location information of a mobile thing (MT) that is destined to pickup or deliver a good or service at a stop location;

engaging in a notification communication session between a personal communication device (PCD) associated with a party and the automated notification system when the MT is a predetermined proximity with respect to the stop location associated with the pickup or delivery of the good or service;

receiving response information from the PCD;

selecting advertisement related information based at least in part upon personal profile information associated with the party or the PCD and the response from the PCD; and

causing the selected advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD.

35 . A method for advertising in connection with a computer based notification system, comprising:

(a) causing implementation of an advertisement service and a notification service, the notification service involving advance notice to a personal communication device (PCD) of impending pickup or delivery of a good or service by a mobile thing (MT) at a stop location;

(b) in connection with the notification service:

(1) monitoring travel or location information associated with the MT; and

(2) engaging in a notification communication session, based upon the travel or location information and upon the relationship of the MT to the stop location;

(c) in connection with the advertisement service:

(1) identifying a party associated with the PCD;

(2) retrieving personal profile information associated with the party;

(3) selecting advertisement related information based at least in part upon the personal profile information associated with the party or the PCD; and

(4) causing the selected advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD as part of or about when the notification communication session occurs.

36 . The method of claim 35 , further comprising charging a fee for or monetarily benefiting from providing the advertisement related information during the notification communication session.

37 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the personal profile information includes historic information regarding prior purchases of the good or service or of other goods or services.

38 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the personal profile information includes activities in which the party has been engaged.

39 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the personal profile information includes historical travel information or current location information associated with the party.

40 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the personal profile information includes topics in which the party has an interest.

41 . The method of claim 35 , further comprising producing and storing in a memory the personal profile information.

42 . The method of claim 35 , further comprising communicating a link to the PCD that enables the party to select and thereby receive the advertisement related information.

43 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the advertisement related information is an electronic image.

44 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the causing includes communicating a text message to the PCD.

45 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the advertisement related information relates to an offering for sale of an item near the stop location.

46 . A method for an automated notification system, comprising:

monitoring travel or location information of a mobile thing (MT) that is destined to pickup or deliver a good or service at a stop location;

engaging in a notification communication session between a personal communication device (PCD) associated with a party and the automated notification system when the MT is a predetermined proximity with respect to the stop location associated with the pickup or delivery of the good or service;

selecting advertisement related information based at least in part upon personal profile information associated with the party; and

causing the advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD.

47 . The method of claim 46 , further comprising charging a fee for or monetarily benefiting from providing the advertisement related information during the notification communication session.

48 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the personal profile information includes historic information regarding prior purchases of the good or service or of other goods or services.

49 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the personal profile information includes activities in which the party has been engaged.

50 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the personal profile information includes historical travel information or current location information associated with the party.

51 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the personal profile information includes topics in which the party has an interest.

52 . The method of claim 46 , further comprising producing and storing in a memory the personal profile information.

53 . The method of claim 46 , further comprising communicating a link to the PCD that enables the party to select and thereby receive the advertisement related information.

54 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the advertisement related information is an electronic image.

55 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the causing includes communicating a text message to the PCD.

56 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the advertisement related information relates to an offering for sale of an item near the stop location.

57 . A method for an automated notification system, comprising:

monitoring travel or location information of a mobile thing (MT) in connection with a pickup or deliver a good or service at a stop location by the MT;

engaging in a notification communication session between a personal communication device (PCD) associated with a party and the automated notification system when the MT is a predetermined proximity with respect to the stop location associated with the pickup or delivery of the good or service;

receiving response information from the PCD;

selecting advertisement related information based at least in part upon personal profile information associated with the party or the PCD and the response from the PCD; and

causing the selected advertisement related information to be communicated to the PCD.
