Abstract

A computer implemented method may allow for the upload and verification of a document. In one aspect, the method may receive a file associated with an insurance company event, determine if the file contains malicious code and transmit the file to a temporary data server. The method may also determine if the file is in a supported file format and if the file meets a supported file size, convert the file and transmit the converted file to the client device for a verification that the converted file can be uploaded. The method may further receive the verification from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded, flag the converted file for association with a customer account associated with the client device and transmit the converted file to a permanent storage server.

Claims (58)

1. A computer implemented method comprising:

receiving, at a quarantine server, a file uploaded from a client device, wherein the file is associated with an insurance company event;

determining, by a malware module of the quarantine server, whether the file contains malicious code;

removing, by the malware module of the quarantine server, the malicious code from the file when it is determined that the file contains malicious code;

transmitting the file to a temporary data server;

determining, by a conversion module of the temporary data server, whether the file is in a supported file format and whether the file meets a supported file size;

converting, by the conversion module of the temporary data server, the file into a converted file when it is determined that the file does not meet at least one of the supported file format or the supported file size, wherein the converted file is in the supported file format and meets the supported file size;

transmitting the converted file to the client device for a verification from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded;

receiving the verification from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded;

flagging the converted file for association with a customer account associated with the client device; and

transmitting the converted file to a permanent storage server.

2. The computer implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

transmitting a status notification for viewing on the display of the client device, wherein the status notification visually represents the progress of the file conversion.

3. The computer implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

determining whether the file is uploaded by a trusted user.

4. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the quarantine server is separated from the company network by one or more firewalls, further comprising:

transmitting the file from the quarantine server through the one or more firewalls to the temporary data server.

5. The computer implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

transmitting the converted file to the client device for viewing on the display of the client device.

6. A computer device comprising:

one or more hardware processors; and

one or more memories coupled to the one or more hardware processors;

wherein the one or more memories include non-transitory computer executable instructions stored therein that, when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause the one or more hardware processors to:

receive a file uploaded from a client device, wherein the file is associated with an insurance company event;

determine whether the file contains malicious code;

remove the malicious code from the file when it is determined that the file contains malicious code;

determine whether the file is in a supported file format and if the file meets a supported file size;

convert the file into a converted file when it is determined that the file does not meet at least one of the supported file format or the supported file size, wherein the converted file is in the supported file format and meets the supported file size;

transmit the converted file to the client device for a verification originating from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded;

receive the verification originating from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded;

flag the converted file for association with a customer account associated with the client device; and

transmit the converted file to a permanent storage server.

7. The computer device of claim 6 , wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the one or more hardware processors to:

transmit a status notification for viewing on the display of the client device, wherein the status notification visually represents the progress of the file conversion.

8. The computer device of claim 6 , wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the one or more hardware processors to:

determine whether the file is uploaded by a trusted user.

9. The computer device of claim 6 , wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the one or more hardware processors to:

transmit the file through one or more firewalls to a temporary data server.

10. The computer device of claim 6 , wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the one or more hardware processors to:

transmit the converted file to the client device for viewing on the display of the client device.

11. A computer readable storage medium comprising non-transitory computer readable instructions stored thereon, the instructions when executed on one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:

receive a file uploaded from a client device, wherein the file is associated with an insurance company event;

determine whether the file contains malicious code;

remove the malicious code from the file when it is determined that the file contains malicious code;

determine whether the file is in a supported file format and whether the file meets a supported file size;

convert the file into a converted file when it is determined that the file does not meet at least one of the supported file format or the supported file size, wherein the converted file is in the supported file format and meets the supported file size;

transmit the converted file to the client device for a verification originating from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded;

receive the verification originating from the client device that the converted file can be uploaded;

flag the converted file for association with a customer account associated with the client device; and

transmit the converted file to a permanent storage server.

12. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions when executed on the one or more processors further cause the one or more processors to:

transmit a status notification for viewing on the display of the client device, wherein the status notification visually represents the progress of the file conversion.

13. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions when executed on the one or more processors further cause the one or more processors to:

determine whether the file is uploaded by a trusted user.

14. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions when executed on the one or more processors further cause the one or more processors to:

transmit the file through one or more firewalls to a temporary data server.

15. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions when executed on the one or more processors further cause the one or more processors to:

transmit the converted file to the client device for viewing on the display of the client device.
