Abstract

A camera mounting assembly is configured to couple to a camera housing. The camera mounting assembly includes a plurality of indentations configured to allow for the passage of light through the indentations and upon the image sensor of a camera enclosed by the camera housing. The camera mounting assembly can further include recessed channels within an inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly configured to further allow for the passage of light through the indentations, through the recessed channels, and upon the image sensor.

Claims (22)

1. A camera housing comprising:

an enclosure body configured to enclose a camera, the enclosure body comprising a top face, a bottom face, a left face, a right face, and a front face, the bottom face comprising an inner hinge structure, and the top face comprising a first fastening structure;

an enclosure door comprising an outer hinge structure on a first edge of the enclosure door and a second fastening structure on a second edge of the enclosure door opposite the first edge, the outer hinge structure and the inner hinge structure forming a hinge when coupled such that the enclosure door is pivotally attached to the enclosure body about the hinge, and the second fastening structure detachably coupling to the first fastening structure such that the enclosure door is secured to the enclosure body in a closed position when the first fastening structure is coupled to the second fastening structure; and

a camera mounting assembly coupled to the front face of the enclosure body, the camera mounting assembly comprising an opening within an inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly configured to be placed over a camera lens of a camera when the camera is enclosed within the enclosure body when the enclosure door is secured to the enclosure body in the closed position, the camera mounting assembly further comprising an indentation at each of four corners of the camera mounting assembly, the inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly including a plurality of recessed channels each associated with an indentation, each indentation and associated recessed channel configured to allow for the passage of light through the indentation and associated recessed channel and incident upon the camera lens.

2. The camera housing of claim 1 , wherein the camera mounting assembly is rectangular.

3. The camera housing of claim 1 , wherein the camera mounting assembly is a square.

4. The camera housing of claim 1 , wherein the camera mounting assembly includes four walls, and wherein each indentation is formed by reducing a protruding height of two walls at an intersection of the two walls relative to the inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly.

5. The camera housing of claim 1 , wherein the camera mounting assembly is rectangular.

6. The camera housing of claim 1 , wherein the camera mounting assembly is a square.

7. The camera housing of claim 1 , wherein the camera mounting assembly includes four walls, and wherein each indentation is formed by reducing a protruding height of at least one wall relative to the inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly.

8. A camera housing comprising:

an enclosure body configured to enclose a camera, the enclosure body comprising a top face, a bottom face, a left face, a right face, a front face, and a rear face; and

a camera mounting assembly coupled to the front face of the enclosure body, the camera mounting assembly comprising an opening within an inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly configured to be placed over a camera lens of a camera when the camera is enclosed within the enclosure body, the camera mounting assembly further comprising four indentations within the camera mounting assembly, the inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly including a plurality of recessed channels each associated with an indentation, each indentation and associated recessed channel configured to allow for the passage of light through the indentation and associated recessed channel and incident upon the camera lens.

9. A camera housing mounting assembly comprising:

an opening within an inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly and configured to be placed over a camera lens of a camera, the camera comprising an image sensor;

a perimeter wall coupled to edges of the inner-front surface and protruding from the inner-front surface, the perimeter comprising a plurality of indentations, each indentation associated with a portion of the perimeter wall and configured to allow for the passage of light through the indentation and incident upon the associated image sensor corner; and

one or more recessed channels within the inner-front surface of the camera mounting assembly, each recessed channel corresponding to one of the plurality of indentations.

10. The camera mounting assembly of claim 9 wherein the camera mounting assembly is rectangle-shaped.

11. The camera mounting assembly of claim 9 wherein the camera mounting assembly is square-shaped.

12. The camera mounting assembly of claim 9 wherein the camera mounting assembly is circle-shaped.

13. The camera mounting assembly of claim 9 wherein each indentation comprises a portion of the perimeter that protrudes a lesser distance from the inner-front surface relative to portions of the perimeter adjacent to the indentation.

14. The camera mounting assembly of claim 9 wherein the inner-front surface comprises a second opening configured to be placed over a second camera lens comprising a second image sensor.
