Abstract

Systems and methods are described for personifying communications. According to at least one embodiment, the computer-implemented method for personifying a natural-language communication includes observing a linguistic pattern of a user. The method may also include analyzing the linguistic pattern of the user and adapting the natural-language communication based at least in part on the analyzed linguistic pattern of the user. In some embodiments, observing the linguistic pattern of the user may include receiving data indicative of the linguistic pattern of the user. The data may be one of verbal data or written data. Written data may include at least one of a text message, email, social media post, or computer-readable note. Verbal data may include at least one of a recorded telephone conversation, voice command, or voice message.

Claims (50)

1. A computer-implemented method of personifying a natural-language communication message, comprising:

collecting data from a device associated with a user, the data including verbal data and written data associated with the user;

observing a linguistic pattern of the verbal data and the written data;

determining that the linguistic pattern differentiates between the verbal data and the written data based at least in part on comparing a characteristic of both the verbal data and the written data;

detecting an event at a property associated with an automation system;

determining a notification type based at least in part on the detected event; and

generating the natural-language communication message based at least in part on the notification type and the linguistic pattern.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the written data is at least one of a text message, email, social media post, or computer-readable note.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the verbal data is at least one of recorded telephone conversation, voice command, or voice message.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

identifying a geographical location of the user indicative of a geographical region; and

adapting the natural-language communication message to use colloquialisms associated with the geographical region.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

analyzing the lingustic pattern;

identifying words or phrases preferred by the user based at least in part on the analyzing; and

identifying a preferred sentence structure of the user based at least in part on the words or phrases identified.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the words or phrases comprise slang words and colloquialisms.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , further comprising:

identifying a geographical region associated with the colloquialisms; and

adapting the natural-language communication message to use colloquialisms associated with the geographical region.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , further comprising:

identifying an age group associated with the slang words and colloquialisms; and

adapting the natural-language communication message to use slang words and colloquialisms associated with the age group.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating a message to deliver to the user.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the message communicates an event within an automation system.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein adapting the natural-language communication message further comprises:

updating an algorithm based at least in part on the determining, wherein the algorithm generates a message to deliver to the user.

12. An apparatus for personifying a natural-language communication message, comprising:

a processor;

a memory in electronic communication with the processor; and

instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by a processor to:

collect data from a device associated with a user, the data including verbal data and written data associated with the user;

observe a linguistic pattern of the verbal data and the written data;

determine that the linguistic pattern differentiates between the verbal data and the written data based at least in part on comparing a characteristic of both the verbal data and the written data;

detect an event at a property associated with an automation system;

determine a notification type based at least in part on the detected event; and

generate the natural-language communication message based at least in part on the notification type and the linguistic pattern.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the apparatus is associated with an automation system.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the natural-language communication message is adaptive to individual users of the automation system.

15. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the natural-language communication message conveys an event at an automation system.

16. A computer-program product for personifying a natural-language communication, the computer-program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor to:

collect data from a device associated with a user, the data including verbal data and written data associated with the user;

observe a linguistic pattern of the verbal data and the written data;

determine that the linguistic pattern differentiates between the verbal data and the written data based at least in part on comparing a characteristic of both the verbal data and the written data;

detect an event at a property associated with an automation system;

determine a notification type based at least in part on the detected event; and

generate the natural-language communication message based at least in part on the notification type and the linguistic pattern.

17. The computer-program product of claim 16 , wherein the computer-program product is associated with an automation system and the natural-language communication message conveys an event at the automation system.

18. The computer-program product of claim 16 , wherein the natural-language communication message is one of a text message, a ping message, an email, or a voice message.
