Abstract

A vehicle wheel chock for a vehicle restraint system for an auto-rack railroad car which secures a vehicle in the auto-rack railroad car. The vehicle wheel chock is configured to be positioned on a grating adjacent to a tire of the vehicle.

Claims (10)

1. A vehicle wheel chock tire engager for a vehicle wheel chock, said vehicle chock tire engager pivotally attachable to a front portion of a body of the vehicle wheel chock, said front portion defining: (a) a first pivot recess area, and (b) a second pivot recess area, said vehicle wheel chock tire engager comprising:

a tire engager body;

a first pivot end;

a first arm connecting the first pivot end to the tire engager body, said first arm including a first step configured to engage a first step of a first arm of an interlocking tire engager when the first pivot end and the interlocking tire engager are attached to the front portion of the body of the vehicle wheel chock;

a second pivot end; and

a second arm connecting the second pivot end to the tire engager body, said second arm including a second step configured to engage a second step of the interlocking tire engager when the second pivot end and the interlocking tire engager are attached to the front portion of the body of the vehicle wheel chock.

The vehicle wheel chock tire engager of claim 1 , wherein the first pivot end defines a first oval pivot member adjustment slot, and a first securing tongue is attached to the first pivot end and configured to be received in a first securing slot when the tire engager is attached to the front portion of the body of the vehicle wheel chock and is in an extended position.

The vehicle wheel chock tire engager of claim 2 , wherein the second pivot end defines a second oval pivot member adjustment slot, and a second securing tongue is attached to the second pivot end and configured to be received in a second securing slot when the tire engager is attached to the front portion of the body of the vehicle wheel chock and is in an extended position.

4. The vehicle wheel chock tire engager of claim 1 , which is an inner tire engager.

5. The vehicle wheel chock tire engager of claim 1 , which is an outer tire engager.
