Automatic de-molding device for flat rubber treads
View Patent ↗A method of automatically de-molding a tread from a mold is provided utilizing an automatic de-molding apparatus. The automatic de-molding device utilizes at least one anchoring member that is inserted into the mold and automatically secures the tread to the de-molding apparatus wherein the mold is mechanically removed from the mold.
1. An automated device for removing a cured tread from a mold, the device comprising:
a first member comprising an anchoring member, the first member selectively moveable between a tread engaging position within a molding cavity of a mold, a first member tread pinching position external to the molding cavity of the mold, and a tread removal position;
a second member selectively moveable to a second member tread pinching position when the first member is in the first member tread pinching position;
the second member further selectively moveable with the first member to the tread removal position while maintaining the second member tread pinching position with the first member.
2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first member rotates to the tread engaging position.
3. The device of claim 2 , wherein the second member is moved and held in the second member tread pinching position by a powered cylinder.
4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first member rotates from the tread engaging position to the first member pinching position.
5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the second member rotates from a tread disengaged position to the second member tread pinching position.
6. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first member translates to the tread removal position with the second member while the first member is in the first member tread pinching position.
7. The device of claim 1 , wherein the tread pinching positions juxtapose the anchoring member of the first member with a pinching face of the second member and wherein a distance separating the anchoring member and the pinching face while in the tread pinching positions is sufficient to grip the tread therebetween.
8. The device of claim 1 , wherein the anchoring member is a plurality of anchoring members.
9. The device of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of anchoring members comprises hooks.
10. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first member is at least partially formed as a cylindrical drum, the cylindrical drum capable of winding at least a portion of a tongue of the tread about at least a portion of the cylindrical drum.
11. The device of claim 10 , wherein one of the first member and the second member is arranged against at least the portion of the tongue during pinching.
12. The device of claim 11 , wherein the one of the first member and the second member is arranged against a bulb portion of the tongue having an enlarged thickness during pinching.
13. The device of claim 1 , wherein the second member is a plate.
