Abstract

The system and method described herein may provide a natural language content dedication service in a voice services environment. In particular, providing the natural language content dedication service may generally include detecting multi-modal device interactions that include requests to dedicate content, identifying the content requested for dedication from natural language utterances included in the multi-modal device interactions, processing transactions for the content requested for dedication, processing natural language to customize the content for recipients of the dedications, and delivering the customized content to the recipients of the dedications.

receive a natural language utterance of a user;

perform speech recognition on the natural language utterance to determine one or more words of the natural language utterance;

obtain context information associated with the user;

determine, based on the one or more words and the context information, a request to dedicate content, the content to be dedicated, and a recipient to which the content is to be dedicated; and

send, based on the determination of the request, the content, and the recipient, information that enables the recipient to access (i) the content and (ii) a dedication of the content to the recipient.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

receive a non-voice user input of the user, wherein the non-voice input is related to the natural language utterance, and

wherein obtaining the context information comprises determining the context information based on the non-voice user input.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein receiving the natural language utterance comprises receiving the natural language utterance from a first user device, and wherein receiving the non-voice input comprises receiving the non-voice input from a second user device that is independently operable of the first user device.

4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the non-voice user input comprises an interaction of the user with the content, wherein determining the context information comprises determining an identifier associated with the content based on the user interaction, and

wherein determining the request, the content, and the recipient comprises determining, based on the one or more words and the identifier, the request, the content, and the recipient.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

determine that the user provided the natural language utterance during a presentation of a media item, wherein the content comprises the media item,

wherein obtaining the context information comprises determining an identifier associated with the media item based on the determination that the user provided the first utterance during the presentation of the media item, and

wherein determining the request, the content, and the recipient comprises determining, based on the one or more words and the identifier, the request, the media item, and the recipient.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the dedication comprises an utterance of the user.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

receive a second utterance of the user for the dedication;

annotate the content with the second utterance, wherein the information enables the recipient to access the annotated content.

8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein annotating the content with the second utterance comprises:

providing one or more portions of the second utterance as voice annotations for the content; and

embedding the content with the voice annotations.

9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

perform speech recognition on the second utterance to determine one or more words of the second utterance,

wherein annotating the content with the second utterance comprises:

providing the one or more words of the second utterance as textual annotations for the content; and

embedding the content with the textual annotations.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

receive a second utterance of the user for the dedication,

wherein sending the information comprises:

sending, to the recipient, an electronic link to access the content as the information that enables the recipient to access the content; and

sending, to the recipient, the second utterance in an encoded audio format as the information that enables the recipient to access the dedication.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

determine, based on the one or more words and the context information, that an intent of the user in speaking the natural language utterance relates to content dedication,

wherein determining the request to dedicate the content comprises determining the request to dedicate the content based on the determination that the intent of the user relates to content dedication.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the intent of the user is determined to relate to content dedication based on the one or more words comprising at least one of words indicating purchase of content or words indicating transfer of content to another.

13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the intent of the user is determined to relate to content dedication based on the one or more words comprising one or more words indicating purchase of content and one or more words indicating transfer of content to another.

14 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

purchase the content from a content provider to enable the recipient to access the content.

15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further caused to:

determine, based on the determination of the request, a purchase option comprising one or more of a buy-to-own purchase option, a pay-to-pay purchase option, or a paid subscription purchase option; and

bill the user based on the purchase option.

16 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the content comprises one or more of a song or a video.

17 . A method of providing a natural language content dedication service, the method being implemented on a computer system that includes one or more physical processors executing computer program instructions which, when executed, perform the method, the method comprising:

receiving, at the computer system, a natural language utterance of a user;

performing, by the computer system, speech recognition on the natural language utterance to determine one or more words of the natural language utterance;

obtaining, by the computer system, context information associated with the user;

determining, by the computer system, based on the one or more words and the context information, a request to dedicate content, the content to be dedicated, and a recipient to which the content is to be dedicated; and

sending, by the computer system, based on the determination of the request, the content, and the recipient, information that enables the recipient to access (i) the content and (ii) a dedication of the content to the recipient.

18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising:

receiving, at the computer system, a non-voice user input of the user, wherein the non-voice input is related to the natural language utterance, and

wherein obtaining the context information comprises determining the context information based on the non-voice user input.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein receiving the natural language utterance comprises receiving the natural language utterance from a first user device, and wherein receiving the non-voice input comprises receiving the non-voice input from a second user device that is independently operable of the first user device.

20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the non-voice user input comprises an interaction of the user with the content, wherein determining the context information comprises determining an identifier associated with the content based on the user interaction, and

wherein determining the request, the content, and the recipient comprises determining, based on the one or more words and the identifier, the request, the content, and the recipient.

21 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising:

determining, by the computer system, that the user provided the natural language utterance during a presentation of a media item, wherein the content comprises the media item,

wherein obtaining the context information comprises determining an identifier associated with the media item based on the determination that the user provided the first utterance during the presentation of the media item, and

wherein determining the request, the content, and the recipient comprises determining, based on the one or more words and the identifier, the request, the media item, and the recipient.
