Abstract

A motorcycle comprises a vehicle body frame; a front seat including a front seat body section on which a rider is to be seated, and a protruding section protruding rearward from the front seat body section; a rear seat including a rear seat body section on which a passenger is to be seated, and a recessed section which is provided in a front portion of the rear seat body section and opened upward and forward; and a seat lock device mounted to the vehicle body frame. In a state in which a front portion of the rear seat is placed over the vehicle body frame from above, the protruding section of the front seat is accommodated into the recessed section of the rear seat and presses the recessed section from above, and the front seat is locked by the seat lock device.

Claims (19)

1. A motorcycle comprising:

a vehicle body frame;

a front seat including a front seat body section on which a rider is to be seated, and a protruding section protruding rearward from the front seat body section;

a rear seat located higher than the front seat and including a rear seat body section on which a passenger is to be seated, and a recessed section which is provided in a front portion of the rear seat body section and opened upward and forward; and

a seat lock device mounted to the vehicle body frame,

wherein

the protruding section includes an upward protruding portion protruding rearward and upward from the front seat body section, and an extending portion protruding rearward from the upward protruding portion at an angle with respect to a horizontal direction which is smaller than an angle of the upward protruding portion with respect to the horizontal direction, and

in a state in which a front portion of the rear seat is placed over the vehicle body frame from above such that the front portion of the rear seat is movable upward from the vehicle body frame, the extending portion of the front seat is accommodated into the recessed section of the rear seat and presses the recessed section from above, and the front seat is locked by the seat lock device.

2. The motorcycle according to claim 1 ,

wherein the front seat includes a bottom plate made of a resin, and a reinforcement plate made of metal and fastened to a portion of the bottom plate to correspond to at least the protruding section.

3. The motorcycle according to claim 1 ,

wherein a seat band which is to be gripped by a passenger is attached to the protruding section of the front seat.

4. The motorcycle according to claim 3 ,

wherein the front seat includes a bottom plate made of a resin, and a reinforcement plate made of metal and fastened to a portion of the bottom plate to correspond to at least the protruding section, and

wherein the seat band, the reinforcement plate, and the bottom plate are fastened together by a common fastening member.

5. The motorcycle according to claim 1 ,

wherein the protruding section is provided on a lower surface thereof with a projection projecting downward, and the recessed section has a fitting hole into which the projection is fitted.

6. The motorcycle according to claim 1 ,

wherein the extending portion and the recessed section have a V-shape when viewed from above, with a width decreased in a rearward direction.
