Abstract

Some embodiments described herein relate to reverse geocoding using, for example, real estate parcel data. In some embodiments one or more location records can be received, for example, from a location record database associated with a real estate mapping service. Each location record can identify or otherwise be uniquely associated with a closed shape, such as a two-dimensional polygon, circle, or other boundary that can, for example, define the metes and bounds of a real estate parcel. Geolocation data that represents a location of a mobile communication device can also be received. The geolocation data can map to a location within a shape and the location record associated with that shape can be selected. When the selected location record corresponds to a residential location, household data can be associated with that location record and/or the mobile communication device.

Claims (25)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving at a first compute device a plurality of location records, each location record from the plurality of location records uniquely associated with a closed shape from a plurality of closed shapes, each closed shape from the plurality of closed shapes uniquely associated with a real estate parcel from a plurality of real estate parcels;

receiving at the first compute device geolocation information representing a location of a mobile communication device;

selecting at the first compute device, a location record from the plurality of location records based on the geolocation information mapping to a location within the closed shape for that location record;

sending the location record from the plurality of location records to a second compute device separate from the first compute device;

receiving, at the first compute device from the second compute device, household data for the location record from the plurality of location records including demographic information for the location record from the plurality of location records;

associating, at the first compute device after sending the location record to the second compute device, the household data with the location record based, at least in part, on the location record corresponding to a residential location;

sending information from the first compute device to the mobile communication device based, at least in pad, on the household data associated with the location record from the plurality of location records and associated with the mobile communication device; and

sending from the first compute device a signal representing the household data associated with the location record such that an effectiveness of the information sent to the mobile communication device is measured based, at least in part, on a plurality of transaction records associated with the location record.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein sending the signal representing household data includes sending the signal representing the household data associated with the plurality of location records without sending the geolocation information or an identifier for the mobile communication device.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the geolocation information includes receiving the geolocation information with an anonymous identifier for the mobile communication device.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

receiving the geolocation information includes receiving a plurality of geolocation information, each geolocation information from the plurality of geolocation information representing a location of the mobile communication device; and

selecting the location record from the plurality of location records includes selecting a location record from the plurality of location records for each geolocation information, the method further comprising:

determining, before associating household data, that the residential location is a home location associated with the mobile communication device.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein determining that the residential location is a home location associated with the mobile communication device includes identifying a location record from the plurality of location records associated with a largest proportion of content consumed by the mobile communication device.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

each location record from the plurality of location records includes an indicator indicating whether that location record is a residential location;

receiving the geolocation information includes receiving a plurality of geolocation information, each geolocation information from the plurality of geolocation information representing a location of the mobile communication device;

selecting the location record from the plurality of location records includes produces a selected location record, the selected location record selected based, at least in part, on the selected location record including an indicator indicating that the selected location record is a residential location; and

the household data is associated with the selected location record.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the information sent from the first compute device to the mobile communication device represents a product announcement associated with a product;

the plurality of transaction records include an indication of a purchase of the product; and

the signal representing the household data associated with the location record is sent such that the information sent to the mobile communication device is determined to have been effective.
