Method for the treatment of senile dementia of the Alzheimer's type
The present invention relates to the treatment of Senile Dementia of the Alzheimer's Type (SDAT) by administering to the patient and effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of: 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P); 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glycerol; and 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glycerylphosphatidylethanolamine (CGPE) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

A method for the treatment of senile dementia of the Alzheimer's Type (SDAT) by administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P); 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glycerol; and 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glycerylphosphatidylethanolamine (GPE);
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is a 1-alkyl, 2-acyl-glycerol.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the side chains include a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid of the following type:
16:0, 18:0, 18:1, 18:2, or 18:3 as alkyl at the sn-1 position, and/or
16:0, 18:0, 18:1, 18:2, 18:3, 20:4, 20:5, 20:6, 22:4, 22:5, 22:6, 24:4, 24:5, or 24:6 as acyl at the sn-2 position.
