Abstract

A multi-cloud fabric system includes an application management unit responsive to one or more applications from an application layer. The multi-cloud fabric system further includes a controller that is in communication with resources of a cloud. The controller is responsive to the received application and includes a processor operable to analyze the received application relative to the resources to cause delivery of the one or more applications to the resources dynamically and automatically.

Claims (55)

1 . A multi-cloud fabric system comprising:

an application management unit responsive to one or more applications from an application layer; and

a controller in communication with resources of a cloud, the controller responsive to the received application and including a processor operable to analyze the received application relative to the resources to cause delivery of the one or more applications to the resources dynamically and automatically.

2 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is virtual.

3 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is physical.

4 . The multi-cloud fabric, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is made of hardware.

5 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is made of software.

6 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is made of hardware and software.

7 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to deploy the one or more native-format applications automatically.

8 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein applications are stitched.

9 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , including L4 through L7 application delivery services, network, or storage.

10 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , operable to automatically stitch end-to-end.

11 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , operable to deploy the one or more native-format applications dynamically.

12 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the controller is in communication with resources of more than one cloud.

13 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 12 , wherein the processor is further operable to analyze applications relative to resources of more than one cloud.

14 . The multi-cloud fabric, as recited in claim 1 , further including a value-added service (VAS) unit, the VAS unit being in communication with the controller and the application management unit and operable to provide analytics to the controller.

15 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 14 , wherein the analytics include traffic, response time, connections/second, throughput, network characteristics, disk input/output, or any combination thereof.

16 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 15 , wherein the VAS unit is operable to perform a search of data provided by the controller.

17 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 16 , wherein the VAS unit is operable to filter the searched data based on a user's desire.

18 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , further including a service unit in communication with the controller and operative to configure data of a network based on rules.

19 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 18 , wherein the network unit, the network is in communication with the resources.

20 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the controller including a cloud engine operable to assess multiple clouds relative to an application and resources.

21 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the controller including a network enablement engine.

22 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the application deployment fabric includes a plug-in unit responsive to applications with different format applications and operable to convert the different format applications to a native-format application.

23 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the application deployment fabric being operable to report configuration and analytics related to the resources.

24 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric spans across multiple clouds.

25 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the cloud is a private cloud or a public.

26 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the cloud is a hybrid cloud.

27 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to configure the resources and to monitor traffic of the resources and based at least on the monitored traffic, re-configure the resources.

28 . The Multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 27 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to monitor traffic in real-time and to re-configure the resources in real-time.

29 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to stitch across the cloud and at least one more cloud.

30 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to stitch network services.

31 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 30 , wherein the network services are stitched in real-time.

32 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to burst across clouds other than the cloud and access existing resources.

33 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the controller is responsive to test traffic and operative to generate to test traffic.

34 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 33 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is operable to configure resources based on the test traffic.

35 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein upon violation of a policy, the multi-cloud fabric system automatically scales out or scales in the resources.

36 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the controller further includes an service level agreement (SLA) engine operable to monitor and set parameters of different types of SLAs in real-time.

37 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 36 , wherein the SLA includes application SLA and networking SLA.

38 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is distributed.

39 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the application management unit is operable to receive more than one application with different formats and to generate native-format applications from the more than one application.

40 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the resources include storage systems, servers, routers, switches, or any combination thereof.

41 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , further including a flow controller operable to block a flow and replace the same with an instance thereof.

42 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 42 , wherein the instance is based on saved policies or events from a flow database coupled to the flow controller.

43 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 41 , wherein the flows are across multiple clouds.

44 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system performs cloud virtualization.

45 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , wherein the multi-cloud fabric system is in communication with various VAS planes and is operable to create an abstraction thereof to allow intelligent decisions regarding network services.

46 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 45 , wherein the network services avoid communication with each other.

47 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , further including links and wherein the controller is a master controller and the cloud is in communication with other clouds through the links.

48 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 47 , wherein the links are virtual personal network (VPN) tunnels or REST API communication over HTTPS.

49 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 47 , wherein the other clouds each include a slave controller controlled by the master cloud.

50 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 47 , wherein the master controller is operable to block flow of data packets from or to at least one of the other clouds and redirect the flow.

51 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 1 , further including links and wherein the controller is in communication with other clouds through the links, further wherein one of the controller or other controllers is a master controller.

52 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 51 , wherein the master controller is operable to block flow of data packets from or to at least one of the other clouds and redirect the flow.

53 . The multi-cloud fabric system, as recited in claim 52 , wherein the links are virtual personal network (VPN) tunnels or REST API communication over HTTPS.
