Treatment of NAFLD and NASH

1. A method of treating a disease that is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) by orally administering a therapeutically effective amount of (R)-2-(4-((2-ethoxy-3-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-propyl)thio)-2-methylphenoxy)acetic acid L -lysine dihydrate salt (MBX-8025 L -lysine dihydrate salt).
2. The method of claim 1 where the dose of MBX-8025 L -lysine dihydrate salt (when calculated as the free acid) is 20-200 mg/day.
3. The method of claim 2 where the dose of MBX-8025 L -lysine dihydrate salt (when calculated as the free acid) is 50-100 mg/day.
4. The method of claim 1 where the MBX-8025 L -lysine dihydrate salt is administered once/day.
5. The method of claim 1 where the disease is NAFLD.
6. The method of claim 1 where the disease is NASH.
