Abstract

Phototherapy systems comprising a therapeutic lamp platform for radiant lamps such as LEDs disposed in an assembly including a reflective surface facing towards a patient and a plurality of light apertures substantially aligned with the LEDs for communicating lamp radiation from the lamps to a user. The lamps and associated circuitry are disposed so that the reflective surface is relatively smooth and seamless towards the patient. The walls have a malleable rigidity for flexible adjustability relative to the user, and the device is mounted to the user with a frame.

Claims (28)

1. A phototherapy device comprising:

a wearable therapeutic lamp platform including a plurality of radiant lamps emitting radiant energy at two or more wavelengths and a parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall disposed to communicate radiant energy from the plurality of radiant lamps to a user treatment area, the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall flexible and expandable about a vertical axis associated with the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall and relatively rigid about a horizontal axis associated with the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall, and the parabolic malleable flexible reflective wall formed to disperse the radiant energy over the user treatment area and reflect radiant energy reflected from the user treatment area back to the user treatment area; and

a flexible frame supporting the therapeutic lamp platform on a user and positioning the therapeutic lamp platform on the user, the flexible frame positioning the reflective wall towards the user treatment area and spacing the reflective wall from the user treatment area at a distance spaced from a nose of the user providing ventilation and clearance between the reflective wall and the nose of the user, the flexible frame including a top member attached to the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall and aligned with the horizontal axis associated with the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall, a nose rest associated with the top member, a left temple member hinged to a first longitudinal end of the top member and a right temple member hinged to a second longitudinal end of the top member, wherein the temple members pivot to place the flexible frame over the user treatment area associated with a face of a user, the temple members contacting and expanding the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall about the vertical axis associated with the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall, thereby expanding a coverage area of the communicated radiant energy from the plurality of radiant lamps to the user treatment area.

2. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of radiant energy communication areas aligned with the plurality of radiant lamps and disposed to communicate the radiant energy to the user treatment area.

3. The phototherapy device according to claim 2 , wherein the radiant energy communication areas include a plurality of apertures disposed on the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall.

4. The phototherapy device according to claim 3 , wherein the plurality of apertures include a plurality of through-holes disposed on the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall.

5. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , further comprising an outer wall spaced from the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall, wherein the plurality of radiant lamps are interposed between the outer wall and the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall.

6. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , wherein the frame is an eyeglass frame.

7. The phototherapy device according to claim 6 , wherein the eyeglass frame includes an eye shielding lens.

8. The phototherapy device according to claim 6 , wherein the eyeglass frame includes an eye shielding cover.

9. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , wherein the two or more wavelengths include at least two of red, blue and infrared.

10. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , wherein the parabolic biased malleable flexible wall includes a smooth and seamless surface oriented towards the user treatment area.

11. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , wherein the therapeutic lamp platform adjusts to a size of the user treatment area by flexing with the flexible frame as it is attached to the user.

12. The phototherapy device according to claim 1 , wherein the parabolic biased malleable flexible reflective wall includes one or both of a reflective coating and a reflective film.

13. A phototherapy device comprising:

a wearable therapeutic lamp platform including a plurality of radiant lamps emitting radiant energy at two or more wavelengths and a flexible reflective wall disposed to communicate the radiant energy from the plurality of radiant lamps to a user treatment area, the flexible reflective wall flexible expandable about a vertical axis associated with the flexible reflective wall and relatively rigid about a horizontal axis associated with the flexible reflective wall, and the flexible reflective wall formed to disperse the radiant energy over the user treatment area and reflect radiant energy reflected from the user treatment area back to the user treatment area; and

a flexible frame supporting the therapeutic lamp platform on a user and positioning the therapeutic lamp platform on the user, the flexible frame positioning the flexible reflective wall towards the user treatment area and spacing the flexible reflective wall from the user treatment area at a distance spaced from a nose of the user providing ventilation and clearance between the flexible reflective wall and the nose of the user, the flexible frame including a top member attached to the flexible reflective wall and aligned with the horizontal axis associated with the flexible reflective wall, a nose rest associated with the top member, a left temple member hinged to a first longitudinal end of the top member and a right temple member hinged to a second longitudinal end of the top member, wherein the temple members pivot to place the flexible frame over the user treatment area associated with a face of a user, the temple members contacting and expanding the flexible reflective wall about the vertical axis associated with the flexible reflective wall, thereby expanding a coverage area of the communicated radiant energy from the plurality of radiant lamps to the user treatment area.

14. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , further comprising a plurality of radiant energy communication areas aligned with the plurality of radiant lamps and disposed to communicate the radiant energy to the treatment area.

15. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , further comprising an outer wall spaced from the flexible reflective wall, wherein the plurality of radiant lamps are interposed between the outer wall and the flexible reflective wall.

16. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , wherein the flexible frame is an eyeglass frame.

17. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , wherein the two or more wavelengths include at least two of red, blue and infrared.

18. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , wherein the flexible reflective wall includes a smooth and seamless surface oriented towards the user treatment area.

19. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , wherein the flexible reflective wall includes one or both of a reflective coating and a reflective film.

20. The phototherapy device according to claim 13 , wherein the therapeutic lamp platform adjusts to a size of the user treatment area by flexing with the flexible frame as it is attached to the user.

21. The phototherapy device according to claim 14 , wherein the plurality of radiant energy communication areas include a plurality of apertures disposed on the flexible reflective layer.

22. The phototherapy device according to claim 21 , wherein the plurality of apertures include a plurality of through-holes disposed on the flexible reflective wall.
