Abstract

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving at a computer device a plurality of stimulus signals generated by one or more gaming accessory devices of a gamer controlling a gaming application, generating a plurality of gaming stimulations based on the plurality of stimulus signals, generating a plurality of gaming action results from the gaming application responsive to the plurality of gaming stimulations, combining the plurality of gaming action results and the plurality of gaming stimulations to generate a plurality of hardware statistics associated with the gamer, and transmitting to a social network the plurality of hardware statistics associated with the gamer.

Claims (52)

1. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:

receiving gaming stimulations, substituted stimulations, gaming results, and performance factors from computer devices that are associated with gamers that play gaming programs at the computer devices, wherein the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, and the gaming results are correlated to generate the performance factors, and wherein the substituted stimulations comprise signals that are substituted at the computer devices for stimulus signals according to associations between the stimulus signals and the substituted stimulations that are recorded in profiles at the computer devices;

combining the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, the gaming results, and the performance factors to generate gaming profiles that are associated with the gamers;

matching a first gamer and a second gamer of the gamers according to patterns present in the gaming profiles;

initiating a gaming application for a game play comprising the first gamer and the second gamer that are matched; and

presenting information representing the game play of the gaming application to a member of a social network.

2. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the performance factors comprises one of kills, non-kill hits, or misses associated with the game play.

3. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

identifying a first skill of the first gamer by detecting correlations between the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, the gaming results, the performance factors, or any combination thereof; and

presenting the first skill to the member of the social network.

4. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise presenting one of the gaming profiles by way of a website.

5. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise presenting a first gaming profile of the first gamer and a second gaming profile to the member of the social network.

6. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a graphical representation associated with one of the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, the gaming results, the performance factors, or any combination thereof; and

presenting the graphical representation to the member of the social network.

7. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

capturing a comment from a first member of the social network; and

presenting the comment at a website to a second member of the social network.

8. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the comment is associated with the gaming profiles.

9. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise notifying the first gamer or the second gamer of the matching via the social network.

10. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the matching is performed according to criteria that are established via the social network.

11. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise constructing a computer-controlled player gaming profile based on a portion of the gaming profiles.

12. A device, comprising:

a memory storing computer instructions; and

a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor, responsive to executing the computer instructions, perform operations comprising:

capturing stimulus signals from user inputs to the device that are associated with a first gamer playing gaming programs at the device;

transmitting, to a server, gaming stimulations, substituted stimulations, gaming results, and performance factors that are associated with the first gamer playing the gaming programs at the device, wherein the substituted stimulations comprise signals that are substituted by the device for the stimulus signals according to associations between the stimulus signals and the substituted stimulations that are recorded in a profile at the device;

receiving, from the server, an alert that first patterns of a first gaming profile of the first gamer correspond to second patterns of a second gaming profile of a second gamer of a second device, wherein the server combines the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, the gaming results, and the performance factors of the first gamer to generate the first gaming profile of the first gamer; and

presenting, at a display, a gaming application for a game play comprising the first gamer and the second gamer that are matched.

13. The device of claim 12 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving information representing the game play of the gaming application; and

presenting the information representing the game play to a member of a social network.

14. The device of claim 13 , wherein the social network assigns credits to the member of the social network in response to participation in a function of the social network, wherein the social network determines an action associated the member of the social network, and in response to the action that is determined, the social network modifies the credits that are assigned according to behavior criteria.

15. The device of claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a third gaming profile from the social network;

presenting, at a display, the third gaming profile that is received;

receiving a rating of the third gaming profile from the member of the social network; and

transmitting the rating to the social network, wherein the social network determining a valuation of the third gaming profile according to the rating.

16. The device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a targeted advertisement from the social network according to the rating that is transmitted to the social network; and

presenting, at the display, the targeted advertisement to the member of the social network.

17. The device of claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a selection of content associated from the member of the social network;

transmitting the selection to the social network; and

in response to the selection that is transmitted, receiving, from a media server, the content that is selected.

18. The device of claim 17 , wherein the content comprises one of a professional gaming profile, a gaming-related content, a demonstration of a video game, or any combination thereof.

19. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a system comprising a processor, gaming stimulations, substituted stimulations, gaming results, and performance factors from computer devices that are associated with gamers that play gaming programs at the computer devices, wherein the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, and the gaming results are correlated to generate the performance factors, and wherein the substituted stimulations comprise signals that are substituted at the computer devices for stimulus signals according to associations between the stimulus signals and the substituted stimulations that are recorded in profiles at the computer devices;

generating, by the system, gaming profiles that are associated with the gamers according the gaming stimulations, the substituted stimulations, the gaming results, the performance factors, or any combination thereof;

matching, by the system, a first gamer and a second gamer of the gamers according to patterns present in the gaming profiles; and

executing, by the system, a gaming application for a game play comprising the first gamer and the second gamer that are matched.

20. The method of claim 19 , wherein the performance factors comprises one of kills, non-kill hits, or misses associated with the game play.
