Inferential avatar rendering techniques in augmented or virtual reality systems
View Patent ↗An augmented reality display system comprises a passable world model data comprises a set of map points corresponding to one or more objects of the real world. The augmented reality system also comprises a processor to communicate with one or more individual augmented reality display systems to pass a portion of the passable world model data to the one or more individual augmented reality display systems, wherein the piece of the passable world model data is passed based at least in part on respective locations corresponding to the one or more individual augmented reality display systems.
1. A method for displaying augmented reality, comprising:
displaying a virtual object to a user of an augmented reality display system;
associating a navigation object to the virtual object, wherein the navigation object is configured to be responsive to one or more predetermined conditions; and
modifying at least one parameter of the navigation object by setting a level of sensitivity of the navigation object in response to the one or more predetermined conditions.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising maintaining a collection of navigation objects, wherein a plurality of navigation objects of the collection of navigation objects are associated with the virtual object.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the collection of navigation objects is re-used by other users of the augmented reality system.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined conditions comprises a presence of a structure by a navigation object that is responsive to the presence of the structure in a virtual space or environment.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined conditions comprises a detection of a light source or a source of light by a light response navigation object in a virtual space or environment.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined conditions comprises a detection of a sound or a source of sound by a navigation object that is responsive to sound in a virtual space or environment.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined conditions comprises a source of food or water by a navigation object that is configured to sense a presence of food or a presence of water in a virtual space or environment.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined conditions comprises identifying an emotion using a navigation object.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parameter pertains to a movement of the navigation object by a navigation object that is responsive to the movement.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parameter pertains to an animation of the virtual object based on movements of the user in captured images.
11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the level of sensitivity is set based at least in part on user input.
12. The method of claim 1 , further comprising setting a boundary for the level of sensitivity.
13. The method of claim 1 , further comprising defining a level of response of the navigation object to the one or more predetermined conditions.
14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the level of response affects the modification of at least one parameter of the navigation object.
15. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parameter comprises a speed of movement of the navigation object.
16. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parameter comprises a direction of movement of the navigation object.
17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the association of the virtual object to the navigation object comprises defining a coordinate frame of the navigation object in relation to a coordinate frame of the virtual object.
18. The method of claim 1 , further comprising scaling the navigation object in size.
19. The method of claim 1 , further comprising arranging a plurality of navigation objects as a ring around the virtual object.
20. The method of claim 19 , combining an output of the plurality of navigation objects to generate a combined output.
21. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined conditions pertains to time.
22. The method of claim 1 , wherein the navigation object corresponds to an emotion vector, the emotion vector comprising of particular values at a particular state in time.
23. The method of claim 22 , further comprising assigning an emotional state to the navigation object.
