Compositions and methods for enhancing the topical application of a color cosmetic
View Patent ↗A powder is disclosed including a first powder of core/shell particles having an average particle size of less than 1000 microns, each particle contains a liquid core that is substantially free of water that includes a polar liquid having a percent surface polarity of at least 24%; and a shell comprising hydrophobic particles and a second powder including a color cosmetic.
1. A composition comprising powder comprising a first powder of core/shell particles having an average particle size of less than 1000 microns, each particle comprising:
a liquid core that is free of water that comprises a polar liquid having a percent surface polarity of at least 24%, wherein said liquid core comprises glycerol, silicone oil and sodium hydrolyzed potato starch dodecenylsuccinate and is an oil glycerol emulsion, and
a shell comprising hydrophobic particles; and
a second powder comprising a color cosmetic.
2. The powder of claim 1 , wherein the hydrophobic particles comprise hydrophobic fumed silica.
3. A method for enhancing the topical application of a color cosmetic which comprises topically administering to a human or animal the powder composition according to claim 1 .
4. The powder of claim 1 , wherein the cosmetic is selected from the group consisting of eye shadow, foundation, blush and concealer.
5. The powder of claim 1 , wherein the amount of color cosmetic is from about 0.001% to about 90% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
6. The powder of claim 5 , wherein the amount of color cosmetic is from about 0.01% to about 90% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
7. The powder of claim 6 , wherein the amount of color cosmetic is from about 1% to about 50% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
8. The powder of claim 7 , wherein the amount of color cosmetic is from about 5% to about 25% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
