Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed for receiving a request to display, on an first communications device, media content, where the request comprises a first logical address for accessing the media content at a first storage location, transmitting to a second communications device, a second logical address for accessing a copy of the media content at a second storage location, where the second logical address differs from the first logical address, and where the second storage location differs from the first storage location. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Claims (47)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, by an application server comprising a processor, a search request from a first media device for media content;

performing, by the application server, a search according to the search request to generate search results;

delivering, by the application server, the search results to the first media device;

receiving, by the application server, a request from the first media device to display the search results on a display of a second media device;

resizing, by the application server, the media content to generate an updated media content responsive to receiving the request to display the search results on the display;

remotely storing, by the application server, the updated media content remote from the first media device and the application server; and

transmitting, by the application server, a first network address comprising a link to the updated media content to the second media device for accessing the updated media content.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first media device, the application server, and the second media device are communicatively coupled via a network.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the network comprises a packet-based network.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first network address is different from a second network address of the first media device.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the search results include a second network address for accessing the search results, and

wherein the second network address is different from the first network address.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising verifying that the first media device and the second media device are associated with a user account.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the search results include media files of the search request.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising remotely storing the updated media content in a storage device.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

directing the second media device to present the updated media content responsive to receiving a request from the first media device; and

directing the second media device to present a different media content responsive to receiving a second request initiated by the first media device.

10. A server, comprising:

a memory that stores instructions; and

a processor coupled to the memory, wherein responsive to executing the instructions the processor performs operations comprising:

receiving a media search request from a communications device over a network;

collecting a plurality of media content according to the media search request as a stored media content, wherein the stored media content is collected and stored remotely from the communications device;

receiving a presentation request to present a media content from the stored media content;

resizing the stored media content to generate an updated media content responsive to receiving the presentation request;

remotely storing the updated media content remote from the communications device and the server; and

transmitting to a display device a first link for accessing the updated media content and for presenting the updated media content.

11. The server of claim 10 , wherein the resizing comprises resizing the stored media content according to a specification of the display device.

12. The server of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise storing the updated media content in a second storage device, wherein a second link is used to locate the updated media content in the second storage device.

13. The server of claim 10 wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a second presentation request from the communication device to present the media content at a second display device;

resizing the stored media content to generate a second updated media content responsive to receiving the second presentation request; and

forwarding the second updated media content to the second display device responsive to the second presentation request.

14. The server of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise verifying that the communications device and the display device are associated with a user account.

15. The server of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving a second presentation request from the communications device to present another media content from the plurality of media content.

16. The server of claim 15 , wherein the communications device initiates the media search request responsive to detecting shaking, and wherein the communications device comprises an accelerometer to detect the shaking.

17. A non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium, comprising instructions, wherein responsive to executing the instructions, a processor performs operations comprising:

performing a search, according to a search request from a first media device, for media content to produce search results;

delivering the search results to the first media device;

receiving a request from the first media device to display the search results on a second media device;

resizing the media content according to the second media device to generate an updated media content responsive to receiving the request;

storing the updated media content remotely from the first media device and the second media device; and

transmitting location information of the updated media content to the second media device for accessing the updated media content.

18. The non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the search results include stacked media files of the media content, and wherein the location information includes an address of the updated media content.

19. The non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the first media device comprises a mobile communications device, and

wherein first media device and the second media device are associated according to a user account.
