POWER MANAGEMENT FOR HEAD WORN COMPUTING
Aspects of the present invention relate to context based power management of a head-worn computer.
1 . A method for reducing power usage in a head-mounted display imaging system that includes sensors and an integrated processor comprising:
a. inputting a mode setting for the head-mounted display;
b. detecting conditions associated with a user and an environment proximate the head-mounted display with the sensors in the head-mounted display;
c. analyzing the detected conditions with the processor in the head-mounted display to identify a user activity; and
d. automatically changing a function provided by the head-mounted display based on the mode setting and the identified activities.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of automatically changing involves changing the polling rate of the sensors is changed.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of automatically changing involves changing audio is turned OFF or ON.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of automatically changing involves changing wifi is turned OFF or ON.
5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of automatically changing involves changing the clock rate of the processor is reduced.
