Abstract

A cover for use with an optic device to hold and display shooting information. The cover may have resilient retention members that allow a display to be releasably attached and detached from the cover. The display may be made from a single substrate or multiple substrates in order to make the shooting information contained thereon highly visible in a variety of conditions and shooting preferences. The cover may include a flexible body for securing the cover to optic devices of a variety of sizes.

Claims (23)

1. A cover for an optical device for a firearm comprising:

a cap having an interior portion;

a flexible body capable of attaching the cover to the optical device for the firearm;

and a means for releasably and securely holding a display such that the display can be selectively removed from the means for releasably and securely holding a display, wherein the display is formed by coupling a first substrate to a second substrate and wherein the first substrate is a different color than the second substrate;

and further wherein the means for releasably and securely holding a display is permanently attached to the interior portion of the cap.

2. The cover for an optical device of claim 1 , wherein the means for releasably and securely holding a display is integrally formed with the cap.

3. The cover for an optical device of claim 1 , wherein the means for releasably and securely holding a display is at least two resilient tabs.

4. The cover for an optical device of claim 1 , wherein the means for releasably and securely holding a display is at least one resilient post.

5. The cover for an optical device of claim 1 , wherein the means for releasably and securely holding a display is at least one magnet.

6. The cover for an optical device of claim 1 , wherein the means for releasably and securely holding a display is an annular ridge formed in the cap.

7. The cover for an optical device of claim 1 , wherein the display has at least one indent formed therein such that the display may be selectively removed from the means for releasably and securely holding a display by the at least one indent.

8. The cover for an optical device for a firearm of claim 1 , wherein the flexible body has a first end and a second end, and further wherein the first end is wider than the second end.

9. A cover for an optical device for a firearm comprising:

a flexible body capable of attaching the cover to the optical device for the firearm;

a cap connected to the body such that the cap can be opened or closed, the cap having an interior portion;

a display with a perimeter, wherein the display is formed by coupling a first substrate to a second substrate and wherein the first substrate is a different color than the second substrate; and

at least one resilient retention member attached to the interior portion of the cap for retaining the display.

10. The cover for an optical device of claim 9 , wherein the display has at least two sides and data of personal equipment is visible by at least one side of the at least two sides.

11. The cover for an optical device of claim 9 , wherein the at least one resilient retention member is a tab.

12. The cover for an optical device of claim 9 , wherein the at least one resilient retention member is a post.

13. The cover for an optical device of claim 9 , wherein the at least one resilient retention member is an annular ring.

14. The cover for an optical device of claim 9 , wherein the display further comprises a third layer.

15. The cover for an optical device for a firearm of claim 9 , wherein the flexible body has a first end and a second end, and further wherein the first end is wider than the second end.
