Abstract

Cyclic shift diversity (CSD) for the simultaneous wireless transmissions, such as uplink transmissions, from the antennas of multiple communication devices is provided.

Claims (41)

1 . An apparatus for wireless telecommunication, comprising:

at least one memory device having programmed instructions; and

at least one processor functionally coupled to the at least one memory device and configured to execute the programmed instructions, and in response to execution of the programmed instructions, the at least one processor is further configured at least to:

receive an indication to transmit a signal concurrently with at a least one second communication device; and

determine a cyclic shift diversity (CSD) value to form the signal.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the CSD value can range from about 0 ns to about 200 ns.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a communication unit configured to generate at least a portion of the signal, and a radio unit configured to transmit the signal.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to

receive scheduling information indicative of the CSD value, and to configure the CSD to form the signal.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to select the CSD value from a predetermined information structure within a memory device of the at least one memory device.

6 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the radio unit is coupled to at least one of the communication unit or the at least one processor, wherein the radio unit is configured to receive wireless signal according to a defined radio technology protocol.

7 . The apparatus of claim 6 , further comprising one or more antennas functionally coupled to the radio unit.

8 . At least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium having instructions encoded thereon that, in response to execution, direct at least one processor to perform or facilitate operations comprising:

receiving an indication to transmit a signal concurrently with at a least one second communication device; and

determining a cyclic shift diversity (CSD) value to form the signal.

9 . The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , the operations further comprising:

generating the signal; and

causing a radio unit to transmit the signal.

10 . The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein

the determining comprises receiving scheduling information indicative of the CSD value, and

configuring the CSD value to form the signal.

11 . The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the determining comprises selecting the CSD value from a predetermined table within a memory device of the one or more memory devices.

12 . The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the determining further comprises assigning the CSD value to an antenna of the communication device.

13 . A system for wireless telecommunication comprising:

at least one memory device having instructions stored thereon; and

at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to execute the instructions that, in response, cause the processor to:

receive an indication to transmit a signal concurrently with at a least one second communication device; and

determine a cyclic shift diversity (CSD) value to form the signal.

14 . The system of claim 13 wherein the CSD value can range from about 0 ns to about 200 ns.

15 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured execute the instructions that, in response to execution, direct the at least one processor to generate the signal, and transmit the signal.

16 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions that, in response, direct the at least one processor to receive scheduling information indicative of the CSD value, and to configure the CSD to form the signal.

17 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions that, in response, direct the processor to select the CSD value from a predetermined information structure within a memory device of the at least one memory devices.

18 . An apparatus for wireless telecommunication, comprising:

first circuitry configured to receive an indication to transmit a signal concurrently with at a least one second communication device; and

second circuitry configured to determine a cyclic shift diversity (CSD) value to form the signal.

19 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the CSD value can range from about 0 ns to about 200 ns.

20 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the first circuitry is further configured to generate the signal,

21 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the first circuitry is further configured to transmit the signal.

22 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the first circuitry is further configured to receive scheduling information indicative of the CSD value.

23 . The apparatus of claim 22 , wherein the second circuitry is further configured to apply the CSD value to form the signal.

24 . The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the second circuitry is further configured to select the CSD value from a predetermined information structure within a memory device.
