Abstract

A communication control apparatus to utilize the extension band in the band-filling efficiently. The communication control apparatus includes a communication control unit that controls radio communication performed by one or more terminal apparatuses on a component carrier having a basic bandwidth. The communication control unit symmetrically sets extension bands to be added to the component carrier to excess frequency bands on an upper side and a lower side of the component carrier.

Claims (75)

1. A communication control apparatus, comprising:

a communication control unit configured to:

control radio communication, with a first terminal apparatus of a plurality of terminal apparatuses, on a component carrier having a first bandwidth;

set a first extension band to a first part of an excess frequency band of the component carrier;

set a second extension band to a second part of the excess frequency band of the component carrier, wherein the excess frequency band corresponds to a first frequency band in excess of the first bandwidth, wherein the first extension band is adjacent to an upper side of the component carrier and the second extension band is adjacent to a lower side of the component carrier, and wherein the first extension band and the second extension band are symmetrical with respect to the component carrier; and

generate resource assignment information based on:

a first set of resource block numbers assigned to a first plurality of resource blocks of the first extension band;

a second set of resource block numbers assigned to a second plurality of resource blocks of the component carrier; and

a third set of resource block numbers assigned to a third plurality of resource blocks of the second extension band, wherein each of the second set of resource block numbers is smaller than each of the first set of resource block numbers and each of the third set of resource block numbers; and

assign downlink transmission on the first extension band and the second extension band, for the first terminal apparatus, based on the first terminal apparatus that is closest to a center of a cell among the plurality of terminal apparatuses; and

a radio communication unit configured to transmit the resource assignment information to the first terminal apparatus, on the component carrier.

2. The communication control apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the communication control unit is further configured to assign a resource for transmission of a synchronization signal, to a center of the component carrier, and

wherein the synchronization signal allows synchronization of the first terminal apparatus with each of the component carrier, the first extension band, and the second extension band.

3. The communication control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the radio communication unit is further configured to transmit setting information related to at least one of the first extension band and the second extension band, on the component carrier.

4. The communication control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the communication control unit is further configured to:

control the radio communication in a resource block unit;

set a second bandwidth of the first extension band to a first integer multiple of a first size of a first resource block of the first plurality of resource blocks; and

set a third bandwidth of the second extension band to a second integer multiple of a second size of a second resource block of the third plurality of resource blocks.

5. The communication control apparatus according to claim 4 ,

wherein the communication control unit is further configured to notify the first terminal apparatus of a setting of the first extension band and the second extension band, based on an index, and

wherein the index is based on a number of resource blocks corresponding to the second bandwidth and the third bandwidth.

6. The communication control apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the index is further based on the number of resource blocks corresponding to one of the second bandwidth or the third bandwidth.

7. The communication control apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the plurality of terminal apparatuses include:

a first group of terminal apparatuses that support radio communication on each of the first extension band and the second extension band, and

a second group of terminal apparatuses that inhibit the radio communication on each of the first extension band and the second extension band, and

wherein the communication control unit is further configured to transmit the resource assignment information to the second group of terminal apparatuses, independent of the first extension band and the second extension band.

8. The communication control apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the resource assignment information comprises at least one of channel arrangement information or scheduling information.

9. The communication control apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the radio communication is based on a frequency division duplex (FDD) scheme, and

wherein the communication control unit is further configured to set a guard band that inhibits a radio signal transmission between the component carrier and both of the first extension band and the second extension band, in a downlink.

10. A communication control method, comprising:

controlling radio communication, with a first terminal apparatus of a plurality of terminal apparatuses, on a component carrier having a bandwidth;

setting a first extension band to a first part of an excess frequency band of the component carrier;

setting a second extension band to a second part of the excess frequency band of the component carrier, wherein the excess frequency band corresponds to a first frequency band in excess of the bandwidth, wherein the first extension band is adjacent to an upper side of the component carrier and the second extension band is adjacent to a lower side of the component carrier, and wherein the first extension band and the second extension band are symmetrical with respect to the component carrier; and

generating resource assignment information based on:

a first set of resource block numbers assigned to a first plurality of resource blocks of the first extension band;

a second set of resource block numbers assigned to a second plurality of resource blocks of the component carrier; and

a third set of resource block numbers assigned to a third plurality of resource blocks of the second extension band, wherein each of the second set of resource block numbers is smaller than each of the first set of resource block numbers and each of the third set of resource block numbers; and

assigning downlink transmission on the first extension band and the second extension band, for the first terminal apparatus, based on the first terminal apparatus that is closest to a center of a cell among the plurality of terminal apparatuses.

11. A radio communication system, comprising:

at least one terminal apparatus and a communication control apparatus,

wherein the communication control apparatus comprises:

a communication control unit configured to:

set a first extension band to a first part of an excess frequency band of a component carrier having a bandwidth;

set a second extension band to a second part of the excess frequency band of the component carrier, wherein the excess frequency band corresponds to a frequency band in excess of the bandwidth, wherein the first extension band is adjacent to an upper side of the component carrier and the second extension band is adjacent to a lower side of the component carrier, and wherein the first extension band and the second extension band are symmetrical with respect to the component carrier; and

generate resource assignment information based on:

a first set of resource block numbers assigned to a first plurality of resource blocks of the first extension band;

a second set of resource block numbers assigned to a second plurality of resource blocks of the component carrier; and

a third set of resource block numbers assigned to a third plurality of resource blocks of the second extension band, wherein each of the second set of resource block numbers is smaller than each of the first set of resource block numbers and each of the third set of resource block numbers; and

assign downlink transmission on the first extension band and the second extension band, for the at least one terminal apparatus, based on the at least one terminal apparatus that is closest to a center of a cell among a plurality of terminal apparatuses; and

a radio communication unit configured to transmit the resource assignment information to the at least one terminal apparatus, on the component carrier, and

wherein the at least one terminal apparatus is configured to communicate on the first extension band and the second extension band.

12. A terminal apparatus, comprising:

a radio communication unit configured to:

receive resource assignment information from a communication control apparatus,

wherein the communication control apparatus:

controls radio communication with the terminal apparatus, on a component carrier having a first bandwidth;

sets a first extension band to a first part of an excess frequency band of the component carrier;

sets a second extension band to a second part of the excess frequency band of the component carrier, wherein the excess frequency band corresponds to a first frequency band in excess of the first bandwidth, wherein the first extension band is adjacent to an upper side of the component carrier and the second extension band is adjacent to a lower side of the component carrier, and wherein the first extension band and the second extension band are symmetrical with respect to the component carrier; and

generates the resource assignment information based on:

a first set of resource block numbers assigned to a first plurality of resource blocks of the first extension band;

a second set of resource block numbers assigned to a second plurality of resource blocks of the component carrier; and

a third set of resource block numbers assigned to a third plurality of resource blocks of the second extension band, wherein each of the second set of resource block numbers is smaller than each of the first set of resource block numbers and each of the third set of resource block numbers; and

assigns downlink transmission on the first extension band and the second extension band, for the terminal apparatus, based on the terminal apparatus that is closest to a center of a cell among a plurality of terminal apparatuses; and

transmits the resource assignment information to the terminal apparatus, on the component carrier; and

a control unit configured to control, based on the resource assignment information, the radio communication unit to communicate on the first extension band and the second extension band.

13. The terminal apparatus according to claim 12 ,

wherein the radio communication unit is further configured to receive a synchronization signal on a center of the component carrier, and

wherein the synchronization signal synchronizes the terminal apparatus with each of the component carrier, the first extension band, and the second extension band.

14. The terminal apparatus according to claim 12 ,

wherein the control unit is further configured to set a parameter of the radio communication unit based on an index,

wherein the index indicates a setting of the first extension band and the second extension band, received from the communication control apparatus, and

wherein the index is based on one of a second bandwidth of the first extension band or a third bandwidth of the second extension band.
