Abstract

A system and method for generating a custom revenue cycle model with automated lead movement are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises receiving user input, wherein the user input comprises at least one of data related to a stage, data related to a success path definition, and data related to transition rules for lead movement, wherein the stage is a revenue stage or a detour stage; generating a custom revenue cycle model based on the user input; storing the custom revenue cycle model; providing for automated lead movements based on the transition rules; and providing for automated tracking of lead movements in the custom revenue cycle model.

Claims (32)

1. A method for revenue cycle tracking, comprising:

receiving first data corresponding to a plurality of stages for a revenue cycle model and one or more transitions between different stages of the plurality of stages, the plurality of stages including revenue stages and detour stages, wherein at least some of the revenue stages form a success path, and wherein the detour stages are positioned outside of the success path;

receiving second data corresponding to transition rules to control movement of a lead between the plurality of stages within the revenue cycle model, wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from a later revenue stage of the success path to one of the detour stages so as to recycle the lead back into the success path at an earlier revenue stage that occurs at some point in the success path before the later revenue stage;

generating the revenue cycle model based on the first data and the second data;

registering a plurality of listeners with a lead management system that monitors activities of a computing device of the lead interacting with one or more servers over a network, wherein the plurality of listeners are registered to monitor at least one of the lead visiting a web page, clicking a link in an email, and filling out a web form;

upon the lead management system detecting a lead activity associated with one of the plurality of listeners, automatically performing one or more actions in accordance with the revenue cycle model based on a current stage of the lead and a transition rule matching the detected lead activity, the one or more actions including moving the lead between the plurality of stages, including moving the lead from the success path to one of the detour stages or moving the lead from one of the detour stages to one of the revenue stages on the success path;

tracking movements of the lead between the plurality of stages within the revenue cycle model; and

generating a lead view interface for visual display on a display screen, the lead view interface displaying the tracked movements of the lead through the revenue cycle model.

2. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 1 , wherein each of the detour stages are either a recycling stage, a disqualified stage, or a lost stage.

3. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 1 , wherein the plurality of stages along the success path include an anonymous stage, a known stage, a lead engagement stage, a lead stage, a sales lead stage, an opportunity stage, and a closed/won stage.

4. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 3 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the lead stage to the lead engagement stage.

5. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 3 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the sales lead stage to the lead engagement stage.

6. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 3 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the sales lead stage to the lead stage.

7. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 3 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the sales lead stage to a disqualified stage.

8. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 3 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the opportunity stage to a lost stage.

9. The method for revenue cycle tracking as recited in claim 1 , wherein the transition rules include Boolean logic to define relationships between different triggers and filters.

10. A non-transitory computer readable medium having computer executable program instructions stored thereon that when executed by a processor implement a method for revenue cycle tracking, comprising:

program instructions for receiving first data corresponding to a plurality of stages for a revenue cycle model and one or more transitions between different stages of the plurality of stages, the plurality of stages including revenue stages and detour stages, wherein at least some of the revenue stages form a success path, and wherein the detour stages are positioned outside of the success path;

program instructions for receiving second data corresponding to transition rules to control movement of a lead between the plurality of stages within the revenue cycle model, wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from a later revenue stage of the success path to one of the detour stages so as to recycle the lead back into the success path at an earlier revenue stage that occurs at some point in the success path before the later revenue stage;

program instructions for generating the revenue cycle model based on the first data and the second data;

program instructions for registering a plurality of listeners with a lead management system that monitors activities of a computing device of the lead interacting with one or more servers over a network, wherein the plurality of listeners are registered to monitor at least one of the lead visiting a web page, clicking a link in an email, and filling out a web form;

program instructions for, upon the lead management system detecting a lead activity associated with one of the plurality of listeners, automatically performing one or more actions in accordance with the revenue cycle model based on a current stage of the lead and a transition rule matching the detected lead activity, the one or more actions including moving the lead between the plurality of stages, including moving the lead from the success path to one of the detour stages or moving the lead from one of the detour stages to one of the revenue stages on the success path;

program instructions for tracking movements of the lead between the plurality of stages within the revenue cycle model; and

program instructions for generating a lead view interface for visual display on a display screen, the lead view interface displaying the tracked movements of the lead through the revenue cycle model.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein each of the detour stages are either a recycling stage, a disqualified stage, or a lost stage.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the plurality of stages along the success path include an anonymous stage, a known stage, a lead engagement stage, a lead stage, a sales lead stage, an opportunity stage, and a closed/won stage.

13. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 12 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the lead stage to the lead engagement stage.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 12 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the sales lead stage to the lead engagement stage.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 12 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the sales lead stage to the lead stage.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 12 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the sales lead stage to a disqualified stage.

17. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 12 , wherein at least one of the transition rules directs the lead to move from the opportunity stage to a lost stage.

18. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the transition rules include Boolean logic to define relationships between different triggers and filters.
