ascorbic acid in an amount ranging from greater than 0 to about 5 weight %;

at least one hexametaphosphate (HMP) in an amount ranging from greater than 0 to about 5 weight %; and

at least one beta glucans extracted from a yeast in an amount ranging from about 0.1 weight % to about 0.5 weight %;

a base composition comprising at least one primary ingredient in an amount greater than or equal to about 30 weight % of said dental composition, wherein said primary ingredient is selected from the group consisting of starches, rubbers, composites, polymers, wood, and combinations thereof.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said beta glucans consists of beta glucans extracted from saccharomyces cerevisae.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein said dental composition further comprises a mushroom matrix.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein said primary ingredient comprises at least one starch.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein said dental composition comprises said HMP in an amount ranging from about 1 to about 4 weight %.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein said dental composition comprises:

said ascorbic acid in an amount ranging from about 0.1 to about 0.5 weight %;

said HMP in an amount ranging from about 2 to about 4 weight %; and

said at least one beta glucans in an amount ranging from about 0.1 weight % to about 0.25 weight %.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein said dental composition is incorporated into at least one of a dentifrice, a toothpaste, a chew, and an edible product.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein said dental composition when administered to said mouth of said animal delivers:
