Abstract

A treatment system and method includes use of a chemical facilitator to provide a result-effective event against one or more negative therapeutic effects related to exposing to a light output a skin portion including a condition treatable in whole or in part with light. In one exemplary embodiment for skin treatment including tattoo removal, perfluorodecalin is used to inhibit or resolve whitening, for example to speed a laser therapy session.

Claims (9)

1. A tattoo removal method comprising: promoting laser therapy effectiveness by delivering perfluorodecalin proximate a picosecond laser treatment area, wherein the perfluorodecalin inhibits or resolves whitening caused by application of the picosecond laser output.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein perfluorodecalin is delivered from a patch.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein perfluorodecalin is delivered from a swab.

4. A tattoo removal method comprising: providing a patch including an amount of perfluorodecalin sufficient to resolve or prevent whitening resulting from application of a laser output to a skin treatment area.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising providing a container including perfluorodecalin within which a swab tip portion is immersible.

6. A skin therapy method comprising: (a) exposing a skin treatment site to an ablative fractional laser output; and (b) delivering perfluorodecalin to the skin treatment site.

7. A skin therapy method comprising: (a) exposing a skin treatment site to a non-ablative fractional laser output; and (b) delivering perfluorodecalin to the skin treatment site.

8. A skin therapy method comprising: (a) exposing, in the absence of a chemical facilitator that causes a chemical reaction, a skin treatment site to a picosecond laser output; and (b) delivering perfluorodecalin to the skin treatment site.

9. A skin therapy method comprising: (a) exposing, in the absence of a chemical facilitator that causes a chemical reaction, a skin treatment site to a laser output having an output pulse duration of less than one nanosecond; and (b) delivering perfluorodecalin to the skin treatment site.
