Abstract

Various devices, systems, structures and methods are disclosed related to securely authorizing a transaction by synchronizing digital genomic data with associated synthetic genomic variants. An embodiment of the present invention utilizes digital genomic data associated with an entity, such as a person, who may utilize a genome-based security device to complete a transaction. In one embodiment, a person may use a genome-based security device to communicate with an external device over a wireless or other communication interface, synchronize digital genomic data and an associated synthetic variant received from the external device with digital genomic data and associated synthetic variant stored on the genome-based security device.

Claims (32)

1. A genome-based security device comprising:

a memory storing digital genomic data associated with at least one entity, wherein the digital genomic data comprises at least one synthetic variant and actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity wherein the at least one synthetic variant is different from the actual genomic data; wherein the at least one synthetic variant includes altered non-neighboring base pairs spread across the actual genomic data;

a hardware processing unit configurable to execute instructions which upon execution:

synchronizes the digital genomic data comprising the at least one synthetic variant and actual genomic data with external digital genomic data comprising at least one external synthetic variant and external actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity and received from an external device; by generating the at least one synthetic variant through applying one or more predetermined time-based transformation functions implemented by inputting one or more predetermined time-based value keys combined with one or more predetermined data selections to create the at least one synthetic variant; and

authorizes a transaction upon synchronization of the at least one synthetic variant with respect to the at least one external synthetic variant;

and a communication interface coupled with the processing unit configured to communicatively couple with the external device and operable to receive the at least one external synthetic variant from the external device.

2. The genome-based security device of claim 1 , wherein the digital genomic data comprises at least a portion of an exome associated with the at least one entity.

3. The genome-based security device of claim 2 , wherein the at least one synthetic variant is disposed within the at least a portion of the exome associated with the at least one entity.

4. The genome-based security device of claim 3 , wherein the at least one entity comprises a human being.

5. The genome-based security device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one synthetic variant comprises a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP).

6. The genome-based security device of claim 5 , wherein the at least one synthetic variant comprises a set of SNPs.

7. The genome-based security device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one synthetic variant comprises at least 100 base pairs.

8. The genome-based security device of claim 7 , wherein the at least one synthetic variant comprises at least 10,000 base pairs.

9. The genome-based security device of claim 8 , wherein the at least one synthetic variant comprises at least 1,000,000 base pairs.

10. The genome-based security device of claim 1 , wherein the communication interface comprises a contact pad.

11. The genome-based security device of claim 1 , wherein the communication interface comprises a wireless interface.

12. The genome-based security device of claim 11 , wherein the wireless interface comprises a 60 GHz chip set.

13. The genome-based security device of claim 12 , wherein the wireless interface has a communication range of less than 10 cm.

14. The genome-based security device of claim 1 , wherein the memory comprises a secured portion that stores the at least one synthetic variant.

15. A computer program product comprising instructions stored in a non-transitory machine-readable medium, the instructions when executed by a device cause the device to perform:

accessing on a memory of the device, a first set of digital genomic data associated with at least one entity, wherein the first set of digital genomic data comprises a first set of actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity and a first synthetic variant wherein the first synthetic variant is different from the first set of actual genomic data; wherein the first synthetic variant includes altered non-neighboring base pairs spread across the first set of actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity;

receiving a second set of digital genomic data associated with the at least one entity from an external device, wherein the second set of digital genomic data comprises a second set of actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity and a second synthetic variant wherein the second synthetic variant is different from the second set of actual genomic data; and

synchronizing the first set of digital genomic data with the second set of digital genomic data, by generating the first synthetic variant through applying one or more predetermined time-based transformation functions implemented by inputting one or more predetermined time-based value keys combined with one or more predetermined data selections to create the first synthetic variant;

wherein a transaction for the at least one entity is authorized when the first synthetic variant matches the second synthetic variant.

16. A method of authorizing a transaction using genomic data stored on a device, comprising:

accessing on a memory of the device, a first set of digital genomic data associated with at least one entity, wherein the first set of digital genomic data comprises a first set of actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity and a first synthetic variant wherein the first synthetic variant is different from the first set of actual genomic data; wherein the first synthetic variant includes altered non-neighboring base pairs spread across the first set of actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity;

receiving a second set of digital genomic data associated with the at least one entity from an external device, wherein the second set of digital genomic data comprises a second set of actual genomic data unique to the at least one entity and a second synthetic variant wherein the second synthetic variant is different from the second set of actual genomic data; and

synchronizing the first set of digital genomic data with the second set of digital genomic data, by generating the first synthetic variant through applying one or more predetermined time-based transformation functions implemented by inputting one or more predetermined time-based value keys combined with one or more predetermined data selections to create the first synthetic variant;

wherein a transaction for the at least one entity is authorized when the first synthetic variant matches the second synthetic variant.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the transaction comprises a healthcare transaction.

18. The method of claim 16 , wherein the transaction comprises a commercial transaction.

19. The method of claim 16 , wherein the transaction comprises a financial transaction.
