View Patent ↗The organic electroluminescence display device of an embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate, a plurality of pixels formed on the substrate, and a sealing film that covers the plurality of pixels. The sealing film includes a first barrier layer, a base layer covering the top surface of the first barrier layer, an inter layer locally formed on the top surface of the base layer, and a second barrier layer covering the top surface of the base layer and the top surface of the inter layer. The inter layer is formed so as to cover a step on the top surface of the base layer.
1. An organic electroluminescence display device comprising:
a first substrate;
a plurality of pixels formed on the first substrate;
a sealing film that covers the plurality of pixels; and
an underlying layer beneath the sealing film, the underlying layer having a flat top surface and a raised top surface ascending from the flat top surface in sectional view, the flat top surface and the raised top surface being covered by the sealing film,
wherein the sealing film comprises:
a first SiN which has a shape corresponding to the underlying layer and which has a corner portion just above a boundary between the flat top surface and the raised top surface in sectional view;
a second SiN that covers the first SiN; and
an interlayer between the first SiN and the second SiN, the interlayer covering the first SiN at the corner portion thereof, the interlayer having a first end portion just above the raised top surface and a second end portion just above the flat top surface in sectional view, the interlayer having an upper surface in physical contact with the second SiN, the upper surface having a curved shape to dent downward toward the corner portion from an imaginary line segment connecting points at both edges of the first end portion and the second end portion in sectional view.
2. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the curved shape dents in a first direction having a predetermined angle with a second direction which is perpendicular to a main surface of the first substrate.
3. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 2 ,
further comprising a second substrate over the sealing film,
wherein the interlayer includes organic material,
wherein the upper surface of the interlayer has a reversed arc-like shape, and
wherein the sealing film includes:
a first region where the first SiN and the second SiN are laminated without the interlayer laminated; and
a second region where the first SiN, the interlayer, and the second SiN are laminated, the second region including the corner portion of the first SiN.
4. An organic electroluminescence display device comprising:
a first substrate;
a plurality of pixels formed on the first substrate;
a sealing film that covers the plurality of pixels, and that includes:
a barrier layer;
an inorganic insulation layer that covers the barrier layer;
a SiN that covers a top surface of the inorganic insulation layer; and
an interlayer between the inorganic insulation layer and the SiN; and
an underlying layer beneath the sealing film, the underlying layer having a flat top surface and a raised top surface ascending from the flat top surface in sectional view, the flat top surface and the raised top surface being covered by the sealing film,
wherein the inorganic insulation layer has a shape corresponding to the underlying layer and has a corner portion just above a boundary between the flat top surface and the raised top surface in sectional view,
wherein the interlayer covers the inorganic insulation layer at the corner portion thereof, the interlayer having a first end portion just above the raised top surface and a second end portion just above the flat top surface in sectional view, the interlayer having an upper surface in physical contact with a part of a bottom surface of the SiN,
wherein the part of the bottom surface of the SiN protrudes downward toward the corner portion from an imaginary line segment connecting points at both edges of the first end portion and the second end portion in sectional view.
5. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 4 ,
wherein the part of the bottom surface of the SiN has a curved shape, and
wherein the curved shape protrudes in a first direction having a predetermined angle with a second direction which is perpendicular to a main surface of the first substrate.
6. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 5 ,
further comprising a second substrate over the sealing film,
wherein the interlayer includes organic material,
wherein the part of the bottom surface of the SiN has a reversed arc-like shape, and
wherein the sealing film includes:
a first region where the barrier layer, the inorganic insulation layer, and the SiN are laminated without the interlayer laminated; and
a second region where the barrier layer, the inorganic insulation layer, the interlayer, and the SiN are laminated, the second region including the corner portion of the inorganic insulation layer.
7. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 4 ,
wherein the underlying layer includes a protrude portion having the raised top surface and a flat portion having the flat top surface,
wherein the protrude portion includes an insulation layer and a flat layer under the insulation layer, and
wherein a first angle is created between the insulation layer and the flat layer is bigger than a second angle made by the upper surface of the interlayer and the top surface of the inorganic insulation layer.
8. An organic electroluminescence display device comprising:
a first substrate;
a plurality of pixels formed on the first substrate;
a sealing film that covers the plurality of pixels, and that includes:
a barrier layer;
an inorganic insulation layer that covers the barrier layer;
a SiN that covers a top surface of the inorganic insulation layer; and
an interlayer between the inorganic insulation layer and the SiN; and
an underlying layer beneath the sealing film, the underlying layer having a flat top surface and a raised top surface ascending from the flat top surface in sectional view, the flat top surface and the raised top surface being covered by the sealing film,
wherein the inorganic insulation layer has a shape corresponding to the underlying layer and has a corner portion just above a boundary between the flat top surface and the raised top surface in sectional view, and
wherein the interlayer covers the inorganic insulation layer at the corner portion thereof, the interlayer having a first end portion just above the raised top surface and a second end portion just above the flat top surface in sectional view, the interlayer having an upper surface in physical contact with a part of a bottom surface of the SiN, the upper surface having a curved shape to dent downward toward the corner portion from an imaginary line segment connecting points at both edges of the first end portion and the second end portion in sectional view.
9. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 8 ,
wherein the curved shape protrudes in a first direction having a predetermined angle with a second direction which is perpendicular to a main surface of the first substrate.
10. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 9 ,
further comprising a second substrate over the sealing film,
wherein the interlayer includes organic material,
wherein the part of the bottom surface of the SiN has a reversed arc-like shape, and
wherein the sealing film includes:
a first region where the barrier layer, the inorganic insulation layer, and the SiN are laminated without the interlayer laminated; and
a second region where the barrier layer, the inorganic insulation layer, the interlayer, and the SiN are laminated, the second region including the corner portion of the inorganic insulation layer.
11. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 8 ,
wherein the underlying layer includes a protrude portion having the raised top surface and a flat portion having the flat top surface,
wherein the protrude portion includes an insulation layer and a flat layer under the insulation layer, and
wherein a first angle is created between the insulation layer and the flat layer is bigger than a second angle made by the upper surface of the interlayer and the top surface of the inorganic insulation layer.
