Synergistic muscle activation device
Systems and methods of use for guiding the flow of energy through a subject to stimulate tissue.
1. A method of delivering more than one type of energy waveform to a patient, comprising
positioning an electrode on a patient's skin, the electrode adapted to be in communication with an energy delivery control unit;
combining more than one type of electrical energy waveform into a multiplexed signal, each type of electrical energy waveform having a repeating frequency; and
delivering the multiplexed signal to a muscle through the skin of the patient from the electrode.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein the multiplexing step comprises multiplexing a pain-relieving electrical waveform and a muscle stimulation electrical waveform.
3. The method of claim 1 wherein the multiplexing step comprises multiplexing a first electrical energy waveform and a second electrical energy waveform, the first electrical energy waveform having higher amplitude and lower repetition frequency than the second electrical waveform.
4. A method of multiplexing a muscle stimulation electrical energy waveform with a second type of electrical waveform, comprising
positioning an electrode on a patient's skin, the electrode adapted to be in communication with an energy delivery control unit;
combining a muscle-stimulation electrical energy waveform and a second type of electrical energy waveform into a single signal; and
delivering the single signal to a muscle through the skin of the patient from the electrode;
wherein the muscle stimulation electrical energy waveform has a first repeating frequency and the second type of electrical waveform has a second repeating frequency.
5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the second type of electrical energy waveform comprises a pain-relieving electrical energy waveform.
6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the first repeating frequency is different from the second repeating frequency.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein combining more than one type of electrical energy waveform into the multiplexed signal comprises combining a first type of electrical energy waveform and a second type of electrical energy waveform, the first type of electrical energy waveform having a first repeating frequency and the second type of electrical energy waveform having a second repeating frequency different from the first repeating frequency.
